ṭhasyekaḥ. , 7.3.50 atra yadyaviśeṣeṇa ṭhasya grahaṇaṃ syāt(), paṭhitā, paṭhitumityādau dhātvantasyāpi syāt(). ata etaddoṣaparijihīrṣayā pratyayasaya ṭhasya grahaṇam(), na tu ṭhamātrasyeti darśayitumāha--"aṅgasya nimittaṃ yaṣṭhaḥ" iti. aṅgasyeti sambandhalakṣaṇā ṣaṣṭhī. atara yadyapi dhātvavayavo hraṅgasya sambandhī bhavati, tathāpi yadā yato hraṅgasyātmalābho yasminnaṅgamityetadbhavati, sa eva pratyāsatteraṅgasya nimittībhūtaḥ sambandhī gṛhrate, na tvarayavo'pi. iha ṭhasyeti varṇamātrasya grahaṇaṃ vā syāt()? saṅghātasya vā? tatra pūrvasmina pakṣe ṭhasyeti nirdeśo nopadyate; itara()smastvoṇādike'tiprasaṅgaḥ--"kaṇeṣṭhaḥ" (da.u.5-6) kaṇṭha ityādau. iha tu mathitaṃ paṇyamasyeti māthitika iti ṭhasyekādeśe kṛte prakṛteśca "yasyeti ca" (6.4.148) ityakāralope sati tāntatāyāmupajātāyāmikādeśasya sthānivadbhāvāṭṭhagrahaṇena grahaṇāt? "isusuktāntāt? kaḥ" 7.3.51 iti kādeśaḥ prasajyeteti yaścodayet(), taṃ pratyāha--"ṭhagādiṣu" ityādi. ādiśabdena ṭhañādīnāṃ grahaṇam(), yadi teṣu varṇamātramanackapratyayo'kārastūccāraṇārthaḥ, tadā "ṭhasyekaḥ" 7.3.50 ityatrāpyakāra uccāraṇārthaḥ. evaṃ varṇamātraṃ sthānitvenopādīyate. ihāpyakāra uccāraṇārtha eveti varṇamātragrahaṇena yo doṣaḥ parasya codayiṣyataḥ sa varṇamātraṃ sthānitvenopādīyate. ihāpyakāra uccāraṇārtha eveti varṇamātragrahaṇena yo doṣaḥ parasya codayiṣyataḥ sa nirākṛtaḥ. satyapi varṇamātrasya grahaṇe, āgantukenoccāraṇārthenākāreṇa ṭhasyeti nirdeśasyopādānāt(). "saṅghātagrahaṇe tu" ityādi. atha ṭhagādiṣu saṅghātaḥ sāckaṣṭhaśabdaḥ pratyayaḥ, evaṃ satyatrāpi sūtre saṅghātasyeti sthānitvena grahaṇaṃ yuktam(). yastvasmin? pakṣe prathamo doṣaścodayitumiṣṭaḥ parasya, taṃ jihīrṣurāha--"tatra" ityādi.
yo'pyasmin? pakṣe dvitīyo doṣastaṃ "mathita paṇyamasya" ityādinā''viṣkṛtya--"sannipātalakṣaṇo vidhiḥ" ityādinā pariharati. ajādisannipātena takārāntatopajātā, sā notsahate'jāditvaṃ vihantumiti na bhavati kādeśaḥ. "yasyeti ceti lopasya sthānivadbhāvādvāvādvā" iti. na bhavati kādeśa iti prakṛtena sambandhaḥ; sthānivadbhāvena takārāntatayā vihatatvāt(). sthānivadbhāvaḥ punaḥ "acaḥ parasmin()" 1.1.56 ityādinā. pūrvavidhau katrtavye sthānivadbhavati, na cātra parvasya vidhiḥ, kiṃ tarhi? pūrvasmāduttarasya, tatkutaḥ sthānivadbhāvaḥ? ityāha--"pūrvasmādapi" ityādi. na kevalaṃ pūrvasya vidhiḥ pūrvavidhiriti ṣaṣṭhasamāso'bhimataḥ, api tu pūrvasmādvidhiḥ pūrvavidhiriti pañcamīsamāso'pītyabhiprāyaḥ॥
