In the opinion of Bhâradvâja, it is only after a root which ends in short ((ṛ)), and after which the Peri-Fut. ((thās)) is always devoid of the augment ((iṭ)), that ((thal)) also, like ((thās)), does not take the augment ((iṭ))|| Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0
