bharjanārthe hi tādṛgrūpamiṣṭaṃ na tu pākasāmānye. ubhayorekārthatvābhyupagame'pi
prācīnāścatvāro doṣāstu dṛḍhā eva. hi te'pi dhātvantareṇa supariharāḥ. apilliṭi
bhṛjerapi dhātorguṇā'bhāvādanudāttatvena ātmanepaditvācca babharjaturityādirūpasya
tenā'pyasiddheḥ. tathā bhṛjerudāttatvena tataḥ pareṣāṃ sanliṅsicāmiḍāgamadhrauvyāt-
- bibhakrṣati bharkṣīṣṭa abharṣṭetyādirapi tena na sidhyati. etena
`bhrasjerbhṛjirādeśa' iti pakṣo'pi nirastaḥ, pūrvoktadūṣaṇagaṇaprasaṅgāt. kiṃ ca
asminpakṣe yaṅluki adhiko doṣaḥ. vadhādeśavatsābhyāsasya bhṛjjyādeśe
punardvirvacanasya durlabhatvāt, sthānivattvenā'nabhyāsasyeti niṣedhāt.
svīkṛte'pi dvirvacane rugrigrīko'bhyāsasya syureveti rugādirahitaṃ bābharjitā
bābharjiṣyatītyādi rūpaṃ naiva sidhyet. yaditu lāghave pakṣapātena svātantryaṃ
cikīṣryate tarhi `bhrasjeraso'riti paṭhitvā rasiti samudāyasya areva vidhīyatāṃ, tathā ca
na ko'pi doṣa iti. ayamatra saṅgrahaḥ— `rasa ṛñcedapilliṭsanliṅsiccaṅparaṇikṣu
te. doṣo bhrasjerbhṛjau caivaṃ, doṣo yaṅluki cādhikaḥ. sābhyāsasya hi bhṛjbhāvo
bhaveddhantervadhiryathā. dvitvaṃ punarna labhyeta sthānivattvādvadheriva. tasmādastu
yathānyāsaṃ, svātantrye'stu rasoriti'.

saṃprasāraṇātpūrvaṃ dhāto rephasya, paścāttu ramāgamarephasyeti śabdāntaraprāptyā
