"che ca" (6.1.73) iti hyasvasya varṇasya tugvidhīyata iti varṇāśrayatvāt? tugantaraṅgaḥ, śakārastvaṅgāśrayaḥ. tatrāṅgasyaiva tāvad? pratyayāśrayatvādvahiraṅgatvam(). kiṃ punastadāśrayasya śakārasya. nanu ca "vārṇādāṅgaṃ balīyaḥ" (vyā.pa.39) iti śakārasyaiva balīyastvam()? naitadasti; yatra hrāṅgavārṇayoryugapadekanimittamāśritya prāptistatrāsyā upasthānaṃ bhavati. yathā "iyāya" ityatra yamevākāramāśritya "iko yaṇaci" 6.1.74 ityabhyāsekārakasya yaṇādeśaḥ prāpnoti, tamevākāramāśritya "abhyāsasyāsavarṇe" 6.4.78 itīyaṅapi. tatra yugapadekatrobhayaprāptau "vārṇādāṅgaṃ balīyaḥ" (vyā.pa.39) ityasyā upasthāne satyaṅgakāryamiṅeva bhavati. iha tu prāgeva naṅutpatteśchakāramāśritya tukprāpnoti, uttarakālaṃ naṅi vihite tadāśraḥ śakāra iti bhinnāśrayatvam(), ato neyamupatiṣṭate.
"sideḥ" iti. "ṣivu tantusantāne" (dhā.pa.1108) ityasya. "auṇādike napratyaye" iti. "dhāpṛvasyajatibhyo naḥ" (da.u.5.39) iti vādibhyo vidhīyamāno napratyayo bahulavanāt? siverapi bhavati. kenacit()"siveṣṭheryū ca" (da.u.4.5) ["siveṣṭerūca"--ityuttvam()] ityanena sūnaśabdasya vyutpattaye nakāro vidhīyate, dīrghoccāraṇasāmathryāt? tatra guṇo na bhavati. ye tu syonaśabdavyutpattaya evedaṃ sūtraṃ varṇayanti, teṣāṃ dīrghoccāraṇamanarthakaṃ syāt(). ta na hi hyasvasya dīrghasya vā guṇe kṛte kaścidviśeṣo'sti. "laghūpadhaguṇāt? pūrvamūṭh? kriyate" iti. "śabdaprāṭ()" iti. śabdaṃ pṛcchatīti "kvibvaci" (vā.288) ityādinā kvip(), dīrghaśca, vaścādisūtreṇa 8.2.36 śakārasya ṣakāraḥ, tasyāpi jaśtavaṃ ḍakāraḥ, tasyāpi cartvaṃ ṭakāraḥ. "goviṭ()" iti. "viccha gatau" (dā.pā.1423) gāṃ vicchatīti kvip(). "kvipca" 3.2.76 ityanena. tathā "akṣudyaḥ, hiraṇyaṣṭhyūḥ" ityatrāpi diviṣṭhivibhyām(). nanu yaṇādeśo'ntaraṅgo varṇāśrayatvāt(). ūḍādeśastu pratyayāśrayatvādbahiraṅgaḥ, tatra "asiddhaṃ bahiraṅgamantaraṅge" (vyā.pa.42) iti yaṇādeśanātra na bhavitavyam()? ityatada āha--"asiddhaṃ bahiraṅgamantaraṅge" ityādi. yatra dvayoracorānantaryyaṃ tatraiṣā pratiṣidhyate "nājānantarye bahiṣṭvaparaklṛptiḥ" (vyā.pa.44) iti. asyā ayamarthaḥ--acorānantarye sati bahiraṅgaparibhāṣā na prakalpate, na bhavatītyarthaḥ. atrārthe jñāpakam--"ṣatvatukorasiddhaḥ" 6.1.83 iti tuki katrtavye'siddhavacanam(). tasya hretadeva prayojanam()--adhītyetyatra savarṇadīrghasyāsiddhatvāddhrasvalakṣaṇastugyathā syāditi. yadi cācorānantarye bahiraṅgaparibhāṣā syāt? tadaikapadāśrayatvādantaraṅge tuki katrtavye padadvayāśrayatvādbahiraṅgasyaikādesyāsiddhatvaṃ bhaviṣyatīti kimasiddhavacanena? tadaikapadāśrayatvādantaraṅge tuki katrtavye paddvayāśrayatvādbahiraṅgasyaikādesyāsiddhatvaṃ bhaviṣyatīti kimasiddhavacanena? tatkriyatejānantarye bahiraṅgaparibhāṣā nāstīti jñāpanārtham(). "hiraṇyaṣṭhyūḥ" ityatra "dhātvādeḥ ṣaḥ saḥ" (6.1.64) iti satvaṃ na bhavati; "subdhātuṣṭivuṣvaṣkatīnaṃ pratiṣedho vaktavyaḥ" (vā.671) iti vacanāt().
"pṛṣṭaḥ" iti. grahrādisūtadreṇa 6.1.16 samprasāraṇam(), pūrvavat ṣatvaṃ ṣṭutvañca. "dyubhyām()" iti. "diva ut()" 6.1.127 ityuttavam().
"ye'tra kṅitīti nānuvatrtayanti teṣāmanyatrāpyanena vidhinā bhavitavyam(), tataḥ dyubhyām(), dyubhiriti na sidhyatīti manyamāna āha--"kathaṃ dyubhyām(), dyubhiriti ūṭhi kṛte" iti. ūṭhi kṛte na kiñcit? sidhyatītyarthaḥ. "diva uditi taparatvānmātrākālo bhaviṣyati" iti. "diva ut()" 6.1.127 ityatra taparakaraṇaṃ na katrtavyam(). yadyapi hi "bhāvyamāna ukāraḥ savarṇān? gṛhṇāti" (cāndra pa.44), tathāpyāntaratamyādardhamātrākālasya vyañjanasya mātrākāla evokāro bhaviṣyati. na dīrgha iti kiṃ tannivṛttyarthena taparakaraṇena? takriyate lakṣaṇāntareṇāpi yo dīrghaḥ prāpnoti sa mā bhūdityevamartham(). tenātra "diva utta" 6.1.127 ityanenaiva taparatvānmātrākālo bhaviṣyati, anyathā yadi "cchvoḥ śūḍanunāsike ca" (6.4.19) ityanena dīrghaḥ syāt? tato niṣphalaṃ "diva ut()" 6.1.127 ityatra taparakaraṇaṃ syāt(); vyāvarttyābhāvāt().

kiṃ punaḥ kidgrahaṇe nivṛtte satīṣṭaṃ sidhyati, yadartaṃ kecidatra kṅitīti nānuvatrtayantītyāha--"chaśāṃ ṣaḥ ityatra" ityādi. kṅidgrahaṇe nivṛtte satyaviśeṣeṇa kṅiti cākṅiti cānene cchakārasya śakāro vidhīyate, tena vraścādisūtre 8.2.66 chagrahaṇaṃ na katrtavyaṃ bhavet(). śakārasya ṣatvavidhānenaiva sarvasya ṣatvasyābhāvācchakārasya ṣatvavidhānārthaṃ vraścādisūtre 8.2.36 chagrahaṇaṃ katrtavyameva. atha teṣāṃ kathaṃ praṣṭheti sidhyati, yāvatā tuki kṛte chakāramātrasya ṣatve praṭṣṭetyaniṣṭaṃ rūpaṃ prāpnoti? naiṣa doṣaḥ, te hi vraścādisūtre 8.2.36 satukkasya cchakārasya grahaṇamicchanti.
