"śnāsvaram()" iti. bādhata iti sambadhyate. nanu paratvāt? tibādiṣu kṛteṣu vikaraṇairbhavitavyam(), ataḥ sati sārvadhātukasvare śnāsvarasya śiṣyamāṇatvāt? tasya satiśiṣṭatvam(); evañca śnāsvareṇaiva bādhā yuktā tatasvarasya? evaṃ manyate yat? "tāsyanudāttenṅidupadeśa" 6.1.180 ityādinā tāseḥ parasya lasārvadhātukatvaṃ śāsti tajjñāpayati--śiṣṭo'pi vikaraṇasvaraḥ sārvadhātukasvareṇa bādhyata iti. "lunītaḥ, punītaḥ" iti. "ī halyadhoḥ 6.4.113 itītvam(). "tassvaramāmsvaraḥ" iti. bādhata iti sambandhaḥ. bādhakatve tasya hetuḥ satiśiṣṭatvameva. "lunītastarām()" iti. "tiṅśca" 5.3.56 iti tasantāttarap(), tadantāt? "kimetiṅvyaya" 5.4.11 ityādinā''mupratyayaḥ.
kimarthaṃ punarayamekavarjapadasvaro vidhīyate? ityāha--"āgamasya" ityādi. āgamādīnāṃ pṛthak? svaro mā mudityevamarthamekaṃ varjayitvā padānudāttvaṃ vidhīyate. "āgamasvaraḥ prakṛtisvaraṃ vādhate" iti. satyasminnekavarjaṃ padaṃ svare. asati tavasmin? parakṛterāgamasya ca pṛthageva svaraḥ syāt(). "catvāraḥ" iti. prakṛtisvaraḥ punarādyudāttatvam(). tathā hi "caterurana" (da.u.8.78) ityuranpratyayāntaścatuḥśabdo vyutpādyata iti sa nitsvareṇādyudātto bhavati. "anaṅvāhaḥ" iti. anuḍuho'pyevaṃ vyutpattiḥ kriyate. "ana prāṇane" (dhā.pā.1070) asmāt? "sarvadhātubhyo'sun()" (da.u.9.49) ityasunpratyayāntatvādanaḥśabdo nitsvareṇādyudāttaḥ. ano bahatotyanasi vaheḥ kvip? "uścānasaḥ" (da.u.9.49) ityasunparatayayāntatvādanaḥśabdo nitsvareṇādyudāttaḥ. ano bahatotyanasi vaheḥ kvip? "uścānasaḥ" (da.u.9.107) ityanasyupapade vaherdhātoḥ kvip(), anaścokārādeśaḥ. vaheryajāditvāt? samprasāraṇam(), upapadasamāsaḥ, "tatpuruṣe tulyārtha" 6.2.2 ityādinā pūrvapadaprakṛtisvaratvam(). tasmādanuḍuho'pyevaṃ vyutpāditasya syādādyudāttatvam(). vikāraḥ=ādeśaḥ. "anaṅsvaraḥ prakṛte" iti. dadhyasathiśabdāvādyudāttau. tathā hi "asu kṣepaṇe" (dhā.pā.1209) "asisañjibhyāṃ kthin()" (da.u.1.10) iti kthinpratyayāntatvānnitsvareṇāsthiśabda ādyudāttaḥ. dadhiśabdo'pi kinpratyayāntatvādādyudātta eva. dhādhātoḥ "ādṛgamahanajanaḥ kikinau liṭ? ca" 3.2.171 iti kinpratyayaḥ, tatra dvirvacane kṛta ākāralope ca dadhīti bhavati. "asthidadhi" 7.1.75 ityādinā'naṅi kṛte tasya yaḥ svaraḥ sa ca katrtavayaḥ, tasyāpyasatyasminnasthidadhiśabdayoranaṅaśca prathagevodāttatvaṃ tu syāt(). a()smastu satyanaṅa eva bhavati. "prakṛte:" ityādi. "gopāyati, dhūpāyati" iti. atra prakṛterguperdhūpeśca "dhātoḥ" 6.1.156 ityantodātttve āyapratyayāderapyākārasya pratyayādyudāttatvam(). gopāyadhūpāyaśabdayorapi "sanādyantā dhātavaḥ" (3.1.32) iti dhātusaṃjñāyāṃ kṛtāyām? "dhātoḥ" 6.1.156 ityantodāttameva prāpnoti. evaṃ pṛthak? svaraprasaṃge yakārākārasyaiva dhātusvaro bhavati, na gupidhūpyoḥ, nāpi pratyayākārasya. "katrtavyam()" iti. dhātorantodāttatve pratyayasyādyudāttatve ca prāpte pratyayādyudāttatvameva bhavati, na tu dhātusvaraḥ. athāniyamenaikasvarasya varjayamānatā kasmānna bhavati, na hratra sūtre kaścid()vyavasthāheturupāttaḥ, na ca vinā vyavasthāhetunā sā labhyate? ityāha--"paranityāntaraṅga" ityādi. yatra parādisvarāḥ prāpnuvanti, tadvipakṣāśca, tatra parādīnāṃ balīyastvāt? tata eva varjayaṃ na, itare tu nivarttyante. yatra tu paranityāntaraṅgāpavāde'pi kvacidiṣṭaṃ na sidhyati, tatra satiśiṣṭena vyavasthā bhavati, tasya hi valīyasatvamuktam(). ataḥ satiśiṣṭetarasvaraprāptau satiśiṣṭa eva vajryate, metaraḥ. kathaṃ punaḥ satiśiṣṭe na vyavasthā? ityata āha--"yo hi" ityādi. kathametajjñāyate? ityāha--"tathā hi" ityādi. "gopāyati" iti. atrāyapratyayasya pratyayasvareṇādyudāttatvam(). sa ca svaro dhātusvarasyāpavādo'pi sannāyapratyayāntasya dhātusaṃjñāyāṃ kṛtāyāṃ punastena dhātusvareṇa satiśiṣṭena bādhyate.
"kārṣṇottarāsaṅgaputraḥ" iti. bahuvrīhiṃ kṛtvā tatpuruṣaḥ katrtavyaḥ. "bahuvrīhisvaraḥ" iti. "bahuvrīhau prakṛtyā" 6.2.1 ityādinoktaḥ.
pūrvakaṃ jñāpakaṃ cetasa kṛtvā''ha--"vikaraṇasvarastu" ityādi.
"vibhaktisvarāt()" ityādi. "nipātā ādyudāttāḥ" (phi.sū.4.80) iti nañudāttaḥ. tatra tatpuruṣa samāse kṛte "tatpureṣe tulyārthaṃ" 6.2.2 ityadivā prakṛtasvarādudāttatvameva bhavati. yadā tu nañsvarādvibhaktisavaraḥ prāpnoti nañsvaraśceṣyate, tasmādvibhaktisvaro "balīyāniti vaktavyam(). balīyastve sati kiṃ bhavati? ityāha--"atistara ityatra" ityādi. "tisṛbyo jasaḥ" 6.1.160 ityanena vibhakterudāttatvaṃ vidhīyate. tadbalīyastvāt? satiśiṣṭamapi nañsavareṇa bādhyate. vibhaktasvarasya tu--tiruāḥ, trisṛṣvityeṣo'vakāśaḥ.
"vibhaktinimittasvarācca" ityādi. vibhaktirnimittaṃ yasya sa svaro vibhaktinimittasvaraḥ. "yasya vibhaktirnimittamāmaḥ" iti. āmo vibhaktinimittatvaṃ, "pathamathoḥ sarvanāmasthāne" 6.1.193 ityataḥ sarvanāmasthānagrahaṇānuvṛtteḥ. tasya "yadudāttatvam()" ityādinā balīyastvasya phalaṃ darśayati. vibhaktinimittasvarasya--catvāraḥ, anaṅvāha itatyeṣo'vakāśaḥ.
"vākye hi" ityādi. devadattaśabda āmantritasvareṇādyudāttatvam(), gośabdo hi prātipadikasvareṇāntodāttaḥ, tasya "auto'mśasoḥ" 6.1.90 ityākāro'pi sthānivadbhāvenodātta eva. tathā vibhaktyā sahaikādeśe'pi "ekādeśa udāttenodāttaḥ" 8.2.5 iti vacanāt(). abhiśabdo'ntodāttaḥ, tasya "nipātā ādyudāttāḥ" (phi.sū.4.80), "upasargāścābhivarjam()" (phi.sū.4.81) ityādyudāttavidhāne varjitatvāt? prātipadikasvara eva bhavati. āṅupasargasvareṇādyudāttaḥ. ajityeṣa tu loḍantaḥ "tiṅṅatiṅa" 8.1.28 iti nidhātenānudāttaḥ. śuklaśabdo hi prātipadikasvareṇāntodātta iti tasya "ekādeśa udāttenodāttaḥ" 8.2.5 iti ṭāpā sahaikādeśe kṛte'ntodātta eva bhavati. evamamipūravatve kṛte veditavyam().
tadevaṃ padagrahaṇādvākya ekaikasmin? pade pṛthageva svaro bhavati. yadyanudāttaṃ padamekavarjaṃ bhavati, evaṃ sati yāvat? padasaṃjñā na bhavati tāvadekaṃ varjayitvā pariśiṣṭasyānudāttatvena bhavitavyam(), tataśca kuvalyā vikāraḥ, kauvalamityatra "anudāttādeśca" 4.2.139 ityenenāñ()pratyayo na syāt(). yata kuvalaśabdoyaṃ "grāmadīnāñca" (phi.sū.2.38) ityādyudāttaḥ, gaurāditvānṅīṣi vihate'pi padavyapadeśābhāvādādyudāttatvaṃ na parityajatītyāha--"parimāṇārthaṃ cedam()" ityādi. padamatra gauṇamabhipretam? na mukhyam(); anyathā padādhikāre sati punaḥ padagrahaṇamanarthakaṃ syāt(). tasmāduttarakālaṃ yasya padasaṃjñā bhaviṣyati, tadiha padamabhipretamiti veditavyam(). asati padagrahaṇe na jñāyate--kiyatāmacāmanudāttatvaṃ bhavatīti. padagrahaṇe tu satyekasmin? pade yāvanto'castāvatāmanudāttatvaṃ bhavatītyeṣo'rtho jñāyate, tasmāt? paramāṇārthamiti. natu subantasya tiṅntasya vā pratipādanārtham(). tena prāgeva padavyadaiśādanudāttatvena bhavitavyamiti na bhavati pūrvoktadoṣaprasaṅgaḥ. syādetat()--yadyapi padamityanena mukhyaṃ padaṃ na pratyāyyate, tathāpi padādhikāreṇa tadiha sannidhāpyata iti tadavastha eva sa doṣaḥ? ityata āha--"padādhikārasya nivṛtiṃ()ta karoti" iti. etat? padagrahaṇaṃ gauṇamarthaṃ pratipādayan? mukhyapadadhikāraṃ nivatrtayati. tena kimiṣṭaṃ bhavati? ityāha--"tena" ityādi. "tathā ca" iti. evaṃ ca satītyarthaḥ prāgeva padavayapadeśāt svaravidhānatulyakālameva pariśiṣṭatasyānudāttatvaṃ bhavatīti. amumevārthaṃ draḍhayitamāha--"garbhiṇī" ityādi. garbho'syā astītīniḥ, "ṛnnebhyo ṅīp" 4.1.5 iti ṅīp(). garbhaśabdo'yaṃ kuvalaśabdavadādyudāttaḥ. tatra yadīnipratyayasyodāttatvasamakālamevānudāttatvaṃ bhavati tato garbhiṇīśabdasyānudātatāditvāt? "anudātatāderañ? (4.2.44) ityañ? prāpnotīti tadbādhanārthaṃ yujyate tasya bhikṣādiṣu pāṭhaḥ. tasya tūttarakālaṃ padasaṃjñāyāmupajātāyāmavaśiṣṭasyānudāttatvaṃ syāt(). evaṃ sati garbhiṇī śabda ādyudāttaḥ syāt(). tataścāṇo bādhanārta bhikṣādiṣu na paṭha()eta, paṭha()te ca. tasmāt? tato vijñāyate--prāgeva padavyapadeśāt? svaravidhisamakālamevāvaśiṣṭasyānudāttatvaṃ bhavatītyabhiprāyaḥ.
kiṃ punaḥ kāraṇaṃ labdhāyāṃ padasaṃjñāyāmavaśiṣṭasyānudātttve vidhīyamāne kuvalaśabdāvañ? na sidhyati, kathañca garbhiṇīśabdasyānudāttādilakṣamasyāño bādhanārtho bhikṣādiṣu pāṭhaḥ prāgeva padavayapadeśāt? svaravidhisamakālamevāvaśiṣṭasyānudāttatvaṃ bhavatītyasyārthasya jñāpakaḥ? ityāha--"kuvalagarbhaśabdau" ityādi. ādyudātttve hranayoryadi padasaṃjñāyāṃ satyāmavaśiṣṭasyānudāttatvaṃ syāt(), kuvalīśabdasya ca syāt? tataśca kuvalīśabdādvikāre'rthe'ñ? na syāt().
garbhiṇīśabdasyādyudāttatvādañ? prāpnoti, tatastadbādhanarthaṃ bhikṣādiṣu na paṭha()eta, paṭha()te ca, tasmādavasīyate--prāgeva padavyapadeśādavaśiṣṭasyānudāttatvaṃ bhavati॥
