"nanu ca" ityādi. paratvādevāñ vuñaṃ bādhiṣyata ityato nārtho vuño bādhanārthenānena vacaneneti bhāvaḥ. etacca gotratvamabhyupetyoktam. idānīṃ gotratvameva na bhavatīti darśayitumāha-- "na ca" ityādi. gotrasamuccayo'yam. na ca gotrasamudāyo gotragrahaṇena gṛhrate, yathā janapadasamudāyo na janapadagrahaṇena. tathā ca kāśayaśca kośalāśca kāśikośalāḥ, teṣu bhavāḥ kāśikośalīyāḥ. janapadatvābhāvāt "{janapadavadhyośca--mu.pāṭhaḥ} janapadatadavadhyośca" 4.2.123 iti vuñ na bhavati, "vṛddhāśchaḥ" 4.2.113 eva tu bhavati. syādetat-- yadyapi gotrasamudāyo gotraṃ na bhavati, tadavayustu bhavati, kṣudrakamālavakaśabdo'vayavo gotram, atastadantavidhinā tadantād()gotrasamudaḥyādapi vuñ prāpnoti? ata āha -- "na ca" ityādi. na hi sarvastadantavidhirbhavatīti. tathā hi-- "yena vidhistadantasya" 1.1.71 ityatroktam--"samāsapratyayavidhau pratiṣedhaḥ", "ugidvarṇagrahaṇavarjam" (vā.12,13) iti. pratyayavidhiścāyam. yeṣu tatra ca tadantavidhiriṣyate te tatraiva "bhayādyādigrahaṇam" (vā.303) ityādinā parigaṇitāḥ, na cāsya tatra parigaṇanam. tato nāsti tadantavidhiḥ. "evaṃ tarhi" ityādi. yadayaṃ kṣudramālavakagrahaṇaṃ karoti vuñbādhanarthām, tajjñāpayati-- vuñi pūrvavipratiṣedho bhavati, na paravipratiṣedhaḥ. "sāmūhikeṣu ca tadantavidhirasti" iti. kimetasya jñāpane prayojanamityāha-- "aupagavakam, kāpaṭavakam" iti. etad vuñpūrvavipratiṣedhajñāpanasya projanam. asati hretasmiñjñāpane parivipratiṣedhena "anudāttāderañ" 4.2.43 ityañ syāt. vuñastu yatrādyudāttatvaṃ so'vakāśaḥ --- glaucukāyanakamiti. glucukāyanaśabdo hi "prācāmavṛddhāt phin bahulam" 4.1.160 iti phinpratyayāntatvānnitsvareṇādyudāttaḥ॥ "vānahastikam,gothenukam" iti. tadantavidhijñāpanasya prayojanam. asatyetasmiñjñāpane "acittahastidhenoṣṭhak" 4.2.46 iti dhenuhastiśabdābhyāṃ vidhīyamānaṣṭhak na tadantāt syāt.
"{kṣudrakamālavāt-- kāśikā, padamañjarī ca.} kṣudrakamālavakāt" iti. gaṇe "kṣudrakamālavāt senāsaṃjñāyām" (ga.sū.82) iti paṭha()te, tatra yadyayameko yogaḥ syāt, ekena yatnena ca jñāpanaṃ niyamaśca na labhyate. tasmādatra yogavibhāgaḥ katrtavyaḥ. tatra kṣudrakamālavādityeko yogaḥ, senāsaṃjñāyāmiti dvitīyaḥ. tatra pūrvo yogo jñāpanārthaḥ, uttaro niyamārthaḥ. "punarasyaiva" iti. kṣudrakamālavādityasyaiva yogasya. "kṣaudrakamālavī" iti. "ṭiḍḍhāṇañ" 4.1.15 iti ṅīp. "kṣaudrakamālavakamanyat" iti. tadantavidhinātra vuñ bhavati.
"añsiddheḥ" ityādi. kṣudrakamālaśabdāt "anudāttāderañ" 4.2.43 ityañ siddhaḥ. tatko'rthaḥ kiṃ prayojanaṃ tasya gaṇapāṭhena?na kiñcidityarthaḥ. syādetat--yo gotralakṣaṇo vuñ syādetastadbādhanārthaḥ pāṭhaḥ? ityāha-- "gotrād()vuñ vidhīyate" (iti). na ca kṣudrakamālavaśabdo gotram, tatkutastato vuñprāptiḥ? "tadantāt" ityādi. yadyapi kṣudrakamālavaśabdo gotrasamudāyo gotraṃ na bhavati, tadavayavastu bhavati, tena tadantavidhinā prāpnotyeva. "na ca sarvataḥ" iti. na ca tadantavidhiḥ sarvatraiva bhavati. parigaṇiteṣveva kāryeṣu tadantavidhiriṣyate, na cedaṃ tatra parigaṇyate, tatkutastadantavidhinā vuñprāptiḥ. "jñāpakaṃ syāt" ityādi. idaṃ hi kṣudrakamālavagrahaṇaṃ jñāpanārthaṃ bhavet. etajjñāpayati-- sāmūhikeṣu tadantavidhirastīti. evaṃ kṛtvā'ṣaḍapiśalervidhirupapanno bhavati. vidhīyate'neneti vidhiḥ, sa punaḥ "dhenoranañaḥ" (vā.423) iti, etaddhi tatsūtram. asyāyamarthaḥ-- dhenuśabdaḥ samūhe'rthe ṭhakamutpādayati, na ceddhenuśabdo naña uttaro bhavatīti. nañpūrvapado na bhavatīti yāvat. yadi tatra sāmūhikeṣu tadantavidhirna syāt "anañaḥ" iti vacanaṃ nopapapadyate. asati tadantavidhau dhenuśabdāducyamānaḥ pratyayaḥ, kaḥ prasaṅgo yadadhenuśabdāt syāt ! tadetadanañiti vacanaṃ paramarthavadbhavati yadi sāmūhikeṣu tadantavidhirbhavati, nānyathā. prayojanāntaramāha--"senāyām" ityādi. senāsaṃjñāyāmeva kṣudrakamālaśabdādañ bhavatītyeṣa niyamo yatā syādityevamarthastasya gaṇe pāṭha ityarthaḥ. "yathā" ityādi. ceti samuccaye. pūrvavipratiṣedhena vuñā'ño bādhanaṃ yathā syādityevamartho gaṇe pāṭhaḥ.
"{khaṇḍikā--kāśikā} khaṇḍika" iti. khaṇḍikaśabdo matvarthīyaṭhanpratyayānto nitsvareṇādyudāttaḥ. "vala { saṃvaraṇe sañcalane ca" -- dhā.pā.} saṃvaraṇe" (dhā.pā.491) ityasmāt "uṇādayo bahulam" 3.3.1 ityavanpratyaye ḍalayorekatvasmaraṇāllakārasya ḍakārādeśe ṭāpi vaḍaveti bhavati. bhikṣukaśabdo'pi kutsārthavivakṣāyāṃ kannantatvāt pūrvapadādyudāttaḥ. śukolūkayorapi "prāṇinā kupūrvāṇām" (phi.sū.1.30) iti kupūrvādirudātta eva.
