"liṅgavacanādikam" iti. ādiśabdena kālasya grahaṇam. vatrtamānena hi kālenāyaṃ nirdeśaḥ kriyate. yathoktam-- "yatrāpi sākṣādanyakriyāpadaṃ na śrūyate tatrāpyastirbhavantīparaḥ prathamapuruṣo'prayujyamāno'pyastīti gamyate" iti. tatra vatrtamānakālavivakṣāyāṃ kālāntare na syāt. kiṃ punaḥ kāraṇaṃ liṅgavacanādi na vivakṣyate? tasyāpradhānyāt. avaśyaṃ hi yena kenacilliṅgādinā nirdeśaḥ katrtavya iti, nāntarīyakatvāt. tasyehopādānam, yathā-- dhānyārthinaḥ palālāderapradhānasyāpi.
"tasyedam" ityādi. "tasyedam" 4.3.120 ityetatsūtramapatyārthe'pi vatrtate. yo hrupagorapatyamupagorasāvayamiti śakyate vyapadeṣṭum. tasyedamityasya viśeṣā hrete-- apatyam, samūhaḥ, nivāsaḥ, vikāra iti. tataśca "tasyedam" 4.3.120 ityanenaivāpatyārthe'pyaṇ siddhaḥ, tat kimarthaṃ tasyāpatyamityetat sūtraṃ kṛtam? "bādhanārtham kṛtaṃ bhavet" iti. ityādau guṇā'prasaktyā antyopadhāvṛddhyornirbādhatvācca. naca paratvādādivṛddhau
antyopadhāvṛddhī bādhyete iti vācyaṃ, vipratiṣedhe hi parasya pūrvabādhakatā. naceha
vipratiṣedho'sti, deśabhedenobhayasaṃbhavāt. nāpyantyopadhāvṛddhyorapavāda ādivṛddhiriti
vaktuṃ śakyaṃ suśruto'patyaṃ sauśruta ityādau
antyopadhāvṛddhyoraprāptayorapyādivṛddhe pravṛtteḥ.
tasmādādivṛddhisthale'ntyopadhāvṛddhī syātāmityata āha–ādivṛddhiriti. `aco
ñṇitī'tyantyavṛddhim, `ata upadhāyāḥ' ityupadhāvṛddhiḥ, puṣkarasacchabdasya
anuśatikādau pāṭhāt. tatra yadyādivṛddhirantyopadhāvṛddhī na bādheta, tadā ādivṛddhyā
upadhāvṛddhyā ca pauṣkarasādeḥ siddhatvādanuśatikādau puṣkarasacchabdapāṭho'narthakaḥ syāt.
atastakrakauṇḍinyanyāyātsatyapi sambhave bādhanaṃ bhavatīti vijñāyata iti bhāṣye
spaṣṭam.
prathamacaraṇasyāyamarthaḥ–tasyedamiti vihito'ṇ apatye'rthe'pi bhavati, idamarthe
tasyāpyantarbhāvāt. atastasyāpatyamityaṇvidhānaṃ vyarthamityākṣepaḥ. naca `ata
i'ñityādyuttarasūtrārthaṃ `tasyāpatya'mityāvaśyakamiti vācyam, evaṃ hi sati
`tasyāpatyamata i' ñityekameva sūtramastu. tathā ca `tasyāpatya'miti pṛthaksūtrakaraṇaṃ
vyarthamityākṣepaḥ paryavasyati. \r\natra samādhatte–bādhanārthaṃ kṛtaṃ bhavediti.
`tasyeda'mityaṇaṃ bādhitvā `vṛddhācchaḥ iti cho'patye prāptaḥ, tadvādhanārthaṃ
`tasyāpatya'miti pṛthaksūtraṃ kṛtamityarthaḥ. nanu `vṛddhācchaḥ' iti sūtraṃ
śeṣādhikārastham, apatyādicatuthryantebhyo'nyaḥ śeṣaḥ, tathāca apatyārthasya
śeṣādhikārasthatvā'bhāvāt, tasmāttatra chapratyayasyā'prasaktestadbādhanārthatvaṃ
`tasyāpatya'mityasya kathamityata āha–utsargaḥ śeṣa evāsāviti. utsṛjyate adanta-
bāhvādiprakṛtibhyo ityutsargaḥ. karmaṇi ghañ. adanta-
bāhvādibhinnaprakṛtisaṃbaddho'patyārtho'sau śeṣo bhavatyevetyarthaḥ.
ākṣepturhi`tasyāptayamata i'ñityekasūtramabhimatam. viniyuktādanyaḥ śeṣaḥ. adanta-
bāhvādiprakṛtisaṃyuktā'patyārtha eva viniyukto natu
tadbhinnaprakṛtisaṃyuktāpatyārtho'pi. tatasca tasya śeṣatvāttasminnapatye chasya
prasaktatvāttadbādhanārthaṃ `tasyāpatya'miti pṛthaksūtram. sati cāsmin
pṛthaksūtre prakṛtisāmānyasaṃyuktāpatyārthasyopayuktatvādaśeṣatvācchasya na
prāptirityaprāptisaṃpādanadvārā chabādhakatvaṃ `tasyāpatya'miti pṛthaksūtrasya
siddham. ayamaprāptabādha ityucyate. nanvevamapi upagorapatyamityatra
upagoravṛddhatvācchasya naiva prasaktiriti kiṃ pṛthaksūtreṇetyata āha–vṛddhānyasya
prayojanamiti. bhānorapatyaṃ bhānava ityādau yāni bhānvādiprātipadikāni vṛddhāni, yāni
upagvādiprātipadikāni nāmadheyatvādvṛddhāni, tebhyaśchapratyayabādhanārthaṃ
`tasyāpatya'miti pṛthaksūtramityarthaḥ. nanu `tasyeda'mityaṇi idantvena bodhaḥ,
`tasyāpatya'mityaṇi tvapatyatvena bodha iti śābdabodhe vailakṣaṇyasattvāt
`tasyedamityapatye'pi' ityākṣepa evā'yamanupapanna iti cenna,
etadvārtikabhāṣyaprāmāṇyena `tasyeda'mitīdaṃśabdena apatyasya idaṃtvena
grahaṇā'bhāvavijñānāt. `pradīyatāṃ dāśarathāya maithilī'ti tvārṣatvānna
duṣyatītyāstāṃ tāvat. kṛtasandheḥ kimiti. `samarthānāṃ
prathamādve'tyadhikārasūtrasthasamarthagrahaṇalabdhaṃ kṛtasandherityetatkimarthamiti praśnaḥ.
sautthitiriti. su=śobhana utthitaḥ sūtthitaḥ. prādisamāse savarṇadīrghaḥ.
sūtthitasyāpatyaṃ sautthitiḥ. ata iñ, subluk, ādivṛddhiḥ, `yasyeti
ce'tyakāralopaḥ. `kṛtasaṃdhe'rityabhāve tu su-utthitaityasyāmeva daśāyāṃ
savarṇadīrghātparatvādādivṛddhau kṛtāyāmāvādeśe sāvutthitiriti syāditi bhāvaḥ.
nanvantaraṅgatvātsavarṇadīrghe kṛte taduttarameva iñ?pratyaya ucitaḥ, parādantaraṅgasya
balavattvāt. tataśca sandheḥ prāk taddhitotpatteraprasakteḥ kṛtasandheriti
vyarthamevetyata āha-akṛteti. antaraṅgaparibhāṣāyā apyapavādabhūtayā aka-tavyūhaparibhāṣayā
sandheḥ prāgeva pratyayaḥ syāt. tataśca ādivṛddhyapokṣayā antaraṅgo'pi
savarṇadīrgho'kṛtavyūhaparibhāṣayā ādivṛddheḥ prāk na pravartate. evañca
savarṇadīrghātprāgevādivṛddhau āvādeśe sāvutthitiriti syādityarthaḥ. naca iñi sati
kṛte savarṇadīrghe ūkārasya jāyamānayā vṛddhyāsavarṇadīrghaṃnimittasya
kasyacidvināśā'bhāvādakṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyāḥ kathamiha pravṛttiriti vācyaṃ, `yadi
savarṇadīrgho na syāttadā su-utthita ityavasthāyāṃ sakārādukārasya vṛddhyā aukāre sati
savarṇadīrghanimittasya ako vināśaḥ syā'diti saṃbhāvanayā'kṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyāḥ
pravṛtteriti kathañcidyojyam. vastutastu akṛtavyūhaparibhāṣā nāstyeva , bhāṣye
kvāpyavyavahmatatvāt, pratyuta bhāṣyaviruddhatvācca. `vipratiṣedhe paraṃ
kārya'miti sūtrabhāṣye hi `parādantaraṅgaṃ balīyaḥ-ityuktvā sotthitirityatra
parāmapyādivṛdiṃ?dha bādhitvā antaraṅga eka#ādeśa ityuktam. padasya
vibhajyānvākhyāne-su utthita iti sthite paratvādvṛddhiḥ prāptā.
antaraṅgatvādekādeśa iti kaiyaṭaḥ. akṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāsattve tadasaṅgatiḥ spaṣṭaiva.
`seduṣa' ityādāvakṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāphalasyānyathāsiddhistu tatra tatra
prapañcitaivetyāstāṃ tāvat. vistarastu śabdenduśekhare
jñeyaḥ.
upagorvastreṇaivānvayāt. yadyapi tatsaṃbandhye'patye pratyayavidhānādiha ca apatyasya
tacchabdavācyopagusaṃbandhā'bhāvādeva atra pratyayasya na prasaktistathāpi ṛddhasya
aupagavamityādivāraṇāya sāmathryamekārthībhāvalakṣaṇamāśrayaṇīyamiti bhāvaḥ. apatyavācakāditi.
upagurapatyamasya devadattaptyetyarthe aupagavo devadatta iti mābhūdityarthaḥ.
`prathamā'dityuktau tu `tasyāpatya'miti sūtre ṣaṣṭha\ufffdntasyaiva
prathamoccāritatvādupaguriti prathamāntānna bhavatītyarthaḥ. vāgrahaṇādvākyamapīti.
vāgrahaṇā'bhāve hi taddhitasya nityatvāduvagorapatyamiti vākyaṃ na syāditi bhāvaḥ. nanu
upagvapatyamiti kathaṃ ṣaṣṭhīsamāsaḥ, taddhitānāṃ samāsāpavādatvāt. naca taddhitānāṃ
pākṣikatvāttadabhāvapakṣe ṣaṣṭhīsamāso nirbādha iti vācyam, `apavādena mukte
utsargo na pravartate' iti `pāre madhye ṣaṣṭha\ufffdā ve'ti vāgrahaṇena
jñāpitatvādityata āha–devayajñīti sūtrāditi. jātitvāditi. apatyārthaṃkā'ṇantasya
aupagavaśabdasya `gotra ca caraṇaiḥ saha' iti jātitvānṅīṣityarthaḥ. ā\ufffdāpata iti.
a\ufffdāpaterapatyamiti vigrahaḥ. patyuttarapadalakṣaṇaṃ ṇyaṃ
bādhitvā`a\ufffdāpatyādibhyaśce'tyaṇiti bhāvaḥ. daitya iti. diterapatyamiti vigrahaḥ.
`dityaditī'ti ṇyo'ṇapavādaḥ. autsa iti. utsaḥ kaścit, tasyāpatyamiti vigrahaḥ.
`utsādibhyo''ñityañ iñādyapavādaḥ. svare viśeṣaḥ. straiṇaḥ. pauṃsna iti. striyā
