"pṛthivyā ñāñau" iti. ete ñādayaḥ-- "taddhitāḥ" (4.1.76) iti bahuvacanenānuktataddhitaparigrahārthena siddhyantīti na vaktavyāḥ. tatra pṛthivīśabdādyadā ñastadā ṭāp-- pārthivā, yadā tvañ tadā "ṭiḍḍhāṇañ" 4.1.15 iti ṅīp--pārthivī. "bahiṣaṣṭilopaśca" ityādi. nanu ca "avyayānāṃ bhamātre ṭilopaḥ sāyaṃprātikādyarthaḥ" (vā.802) ityenaiva ṭilopasiddhiḥ, tatkimarthaṃ punarucyate? ityata āha-- "ṭilopapavacanam" ityādi. "ārātīyaḥ" iti. anityatvājñāpanasya prayojanam. ārādbhavatīti "vṛddhācchaḥ" 4.2.113.
"sthāmno'kāraḥ"(iti). sthāmanśabdasya kevalasyāpatyārthe prayogo nāstīti tadantasyākārapratyayo vijñeyaḥ. a()āsyeva sthāmāsyetya()ātvāmā, pṛṣodāditvāt sakārasya takāraḥ. a()ātthāmno'patyama()ātthāmaḥ, "nastaddhite" 6.4.144 iti ṭilopaḥ.
"lomno'patye" iti. lomaśabdo bāhvādiṣu paṭha()te, tasya kevalasyāpatyena sambandho nāstīti tadantavidirvijñāyate. atrāpatyavivakṣāyāṃ bahuṣviñi prāpte tadapavāda evākāro vidhīyete. uḍulomno'patyāni bahūnyuḍulomāḥ.
"sarvatra" iti. apatye ca anyatra ca.atha vā-- prāgdīvyatīye cānyatra cārthe'jādipratyayaprasaṅgaṃ iti. ajādeḥ pratyayasya prasaṅgaḥ = prāptiḥ. tatra gośabdāt sarvatra yad bhavati. yadyevam, "ugavādibhyo yat" (5.1.2) ityatra gograhaṇaṃ kimartham? asyaiva prapañcārtham. "gavyam" iti. gorapatyam, gavā caratīti vā. aṇaṣṭhako vā'jāderyatrārthe prasaṅgastatra yadbhavati, nānyatra. "gorūpyam, gomayam" iti. "hetumanu,()yebhyo'nyatarasyāṃ rūpyaḥ" 4.3.81, "mayaṭ ca" 4.3.82.
"ṇyādayaḥ" ityādi. lakṣamaśabdo nimittavacanaḥ,cihnavacano vā. arthaviśeṣo lakṣaṇaṃ yasya so'rthaviśeṣalakṣaṇo'ṇapavādaḥ. tasmāt pūrvavipratiṣedhena ṇyādayo bhavanti. na cedaṃ vaktavyam; paraśabdasyeṣṭavācitvāt tenaiva siddhatvāt. ādiśabdena "utsādibhyo'ñ" 4.1.86 ityevamādayaḥ pratyayā gṛhrante. tatra ṇyasyāvakāśaḥ bhavati-- daityaḥ, vānaspatyamiti. ṇyaścāyaṃ sarveṣvapatyādiṣvartheṣu vidhīyata iti sāmānyapratyayo bhavatīti, ato nārthaviśeṣalakṣaṇaḥ. arthaviśeṣalakṣamasyāṇapavādasyāvakāśaḥ-- dulerapatyamiti "itaścāniñaḥṭa 4.1.122 iti ḍhak-- dauleyaḥ, ḍhagayamapatya evārthaveśeṣe vidhīyata ityarthaviśeṣalakṣaṇo bhavati. ihobhayaṃ prāpnoti-- diterapatyaṃ daityaḥ, vanaspatīnāṃ samūho vānaspatyamiti vā, ṇyapratyayo bhavati pūrvavipratiṣedhena. arthaviśeṣalakṣaṇāditi kim? yo'ṇapavādo'rthasāmānyenārthaviśeṣe vihitaḥ sa paratvāṇṇyādīn bādhitvā bhavatyeva. uṣṭrapatirnāma pattram. tasyoṣṭrapateridamiti tasyedaṃ vivakṣāyām "pattrādhvaryupariṣadaśca" 4.3.131 ityañ-- auṣṭrapatyam, tasyedaṃlakṣaṇo hrayamañaṇo'pavādaḥ, na yo'rthaviśeṣalakṣaṇastasya. arthaviśeṣā hrapatyādayo'rthāḥ. tasyedamarthastu sāmānyam, nārthaviśeṣaḥ.
"kathaṃ vaiteyaḥ"iti. yadi ṇyādayo'rthaviśeṣalakṣaṇādaṇapavādāt pūrvavipratiṣedhana bhavanti, daiteya iti na sidhyati. atrāpi hi ṇyapratyayenaiva bhavitavyamiti bhāvaḥ.
