`edha vṛddhau'ityasminnakarmake'pi vṛddhyanukūlavyāpāro dhātvarthaḥ. nacaivaṃ sati `edhate
devadatta' ityatra dhātūpāttavyāpārāśrayatvādvyāpāravyadhikaraṇaphalāśrayatvaṃ
karmatva'miti siddhāntāt. evaṃ ca phalotpattyanukūlavyāpārātmikā kriyā dhātvartha
iti siddham. etena kriyāvācī dhātuḥ, dhātuvācyā kriyetyanyonyāśrayo'pi
nirastaḥ. utpattyanukūlavyāpārasyaiva kriyātvāt. taduktaṃ– `vyāpāro bhāvanā

viklittyāditattatphalotpattyanukūlavyāpārthakatvaṃ tu na saṃbhavati, ekaikasya
dhātorviklittyāditattatphalāṃśe, tadanukūlavyāpārātmakavyāpārasāmānye ca
vācakatvānupapatterityata āha– sā cetyādi. pacyādayo dhātutvena rūpeṇa
utpattyanukūlavyāpārātmikaṃ kriyāmāhuḥ. pacitvāditaviśeṣarūpeṇa tu
viklittyāditattatphalāṃśamāhuḥ. tathā ca
vācakatāvacchedakabedādviklittyādiphalaviśeṣasya, kriyāsāmānyasya ca vācyatā
saṅgacchate iti bhāvaḥ. tathā ca bhaṭṭirāha– `vibhajya senāṃ paramārtha senāpatīṃścāpi

astibhavatividyatīnāmapi sattānukūlavyāpāra evārthaḥ. tatra sattā ātmabharaṇam.
tadanukūlavyāpārastu jāyate, asti, vipariṇamate, vadrdhate, apakṣīyate, vinaśyatīti
vāṣryāyaṇipraṇītaṣaḍbhāvavikāreṣvanyatamo yathāyathaṃ jñeyaḥ. bhūvādisūtre bhāṣye
spaṣṭametat. prapañcataṃ ca mañjūṣāyāmityalam. nanūtpādanātmakakriyārūpasya bhāvasya
dhātuvācyatve `laḥ karmaṇi ca bhāve ce'ti bhāve kathaṃ lakāravidhiḥ. ananyalabhyasyaiva

tiṅvācyo natu yuṣmadasmadarthau, ato na madhyamottamāvityarthaḥ. karmalakāre tu `tvaṃ

sāmanādhikaraṇyasaṃbhavātpuruṣatrayamapi yathāyathamudāhariṣyate. tiṅvācyeti. sattvaṃ =

`tiṅvācyabhāvalakārasye'ti śeṣaḥ. tasyeti. `dveyakayordvivacanaikavacane' `bahuṣu
bahuvacana'miti sūtranyāsaṃ bhaṅktvā `ekavacanaṃ' dvibahuṣu dvibahuvacane' iti
sūtranyāsaḥ kartavyaḥ. tatra dvitvabahutvayordvibahuvacananiyame sati tayoraviṣaye

viśeṣaṇatvābyupagamātpratyayārthaḥ pradhānamiti niyamasya tyaktatvācca. kiṃ ca
bhoktavyamityādau tiṅaṃ vināpi bhāvanā pratīyate, kārakāpekṣā ca dṛśyate. asti ca
karotisāmānādhikaraṇyam. kiṃ ca bhoktavyamityādau tiṅaṃ vināpi bhāvanā pratīyate,
kārakāpekṣā ca dṛśyate. asti ca karotisāmānādhikaraṇyam. kiṃ kartavyaṃ ?,
bhoktavyam, kiṃ kṛtavān ?, bhuktavāniti. naca kṛtāmapi tavyadādīnāṃ
bhāvanāvācakatvamastviti śaṅkyam, nāmārthayorabhedānvayānurodhena `kartari kṛ'diti
tavyadādayaḥ karma#ādāviti parairapyabhyupagamāt. anyathā pācako devadattaḥ, paktavya odana
ityatrā'bhedabodho na syāt. tathā ca dhātuvācyatvaṃ bhāvanāyā ityeva mataṃ ramaṇīyataramiti.
lakārasya sāmānādhikaraṇyaṃ kartṛkarmābhidhāyina eva saṃbhavati na bhāvābhidhāyina ityāśayena

ityatra tanna sidhyet. na ca karmaṇyevā'tra lakāro'stviti śaṅkyam,
dhātudvayasyāpyakarmakatvena tadasaṃbhavāt, arthā'saṅgateśca. tatra hruṣṭrāṇāṃ
yādṛśānyāsanāni hatānāṃ yādṛśāni śayanāni tādṛśāni devadattādi
kartṛkānyāsanādīnītyarthaḥ. sādṛśyāvagamādiha ākhyātavācyasyāpi bhāvasya

"erajaṇyantānā"miti tvanārṣamiti tasminneva sūtre kaiyaṭaḥ. bhavaterutpattyarthatvaṃ, ṇyantasya bhavateḥ śuddhena karotinā tulyārthatvaṃ ca darśayati-- utpādanā kriyeti. yathā karoti ghaṭamityādāvutpattyanukūlo vyāpāraḥ kulālaniṣṭhaḥ, tathā bhāvayati ghaṭamityādāvapi. bhavati ghaṭa ityatrāpi ghaṭaniṣṭha utpattyanukūlo vyāpāro'styeva, paraṃtu phalasamānādhikaraṇaḥ saḥ, kulālaniṣṭhastu phalavyadhikaraṇa itīyānbhedaḥ. ata eva phalavyāparayoḥ sāmānādhikaraṇyādbhavatyādirakarmakaḥ, tayostu vaiyadhikaraṇyātkarotyādiḥ sakarmaka ityāhuḥ. etena "bhāvo bhāvane" tyādigranthena "bhūvādayo dhātavaḥ" ityatra kriyāvācinaḥ kim?. vikalpārthakavāśabdādbhāve liṇ mābhūt. anyathā bhvādigaṇe vāśabdamātrapaṭhanādakriyāvācino'pi vāśabdasya dhātutve "dhātvarthaḥ kevalaḥ śuddho bhāva ityabhidhīyate" iti vikalpasyāpi bāvatvāpattyā tadvācakavāśabdālliṭ syādeveti keṣāṃcidvyākhyānaṃ parāstam, bhāvanāvācakādeva bhāve liṭaḥ svīkārāt. vikalpasya tu bhāvanābhinnatvāt. anyathā "kriyāvācina" iti viśeṣaṇe datte'pi taddoṣatādavasthyāt. vikalpavācakālliḍabhāve'pi laḍādayaḥ syuriti tu na śaṅkanīyameva, vartamānakriyādivṛttereva laḍādīnāṃ vidhānāt. kimrathaṃ tarhi kriyāvācino bhvādaya iti sarvaireva tatra vyākhyātam(). "yāḥ paśyasī"tyatrāpi lakṣaṇapratipadoktaparibhāṣayā yāśabdasya dhātutvā'saṃbhavāt "āto dhātoḥ" iti tatrā''llopāprasaktiriti cet. atrāhuḥ-- "kāryakālaṃ saṃjñāparibhāṣa"miti pakṣe "āto dhātutvā'saṃbhavāt "āto dhātoḥ" iti tatrā'llopāprasaktiriti cet. atrāhuḥ-- "kāryakālaṃ saṃjñāparibhāṣa"miti pakṣe "āto dhāto"riti kāryapradeśe bhvādayo dhātava ityupatiṣṭhate bhvādiṣu yāśabdamātarpaṭhanāddravyavācako'pi yāśabdastatropatiṣṭhate. varṇagrahaṇe lakṣaṇapratipadoktaparibhāṣāyā apravṛtteḥ, "āto dhāto"rityatra tvāt iti varṇagrahaṇāt. tasmāddvyavacākasya yāśabdasya dhātusaṃjñā mābhūditi kriyāvācina iti viśeṣaṇamavaśyaṃ vaktavyameveti. "utpādanā kriye" tyanena tu kriyāvācī dhāturdhātvarthaḥ kriyetyanyonyāśrayo'tra duṣparihara iti keṣāṃcidākṣepo nirastaḥ. utpattyanukūlavyāpārasya kriyātvāt. tada#uktam-- "vyāpāro bhāvanā saivotpādanā saiva ca kriye"ti. dhātutveneti. sakaladhātuṣu dhātutvaṃ jātirakhaṇḍopādhirvetyanyadetat. tacca vācakatāvacchedakam. kriyātvaṃ tu vācyatāvacchedakamiti bhāvaḥ. dhātuvācyeti. nanvevaṃ pacatītyādāvekakartṛkā vartamānā pacikriyeti kriyāviśeṣyako bodho na syāt, pratyayārthaṃ prati prakṛtyarthasyaviśeṣaṇatāyā aupagavādau klṛptatvāt. tathā ca "bhāvanā tiṅ pratyayavācye"ti mīmāṃsakamatameva ramaṇīyamiti cet. atrāhuḥ-- "pratyayārthaḥ pradhāna"miti utsargaḥ, sa ceha tyajyate,"kriyāpradhānamākhyāta"smarāt. ṭābādyarthatvena mīmāṃsakairabhyupagatasya strītvasya pācikādau viśeṣaṇatvābyupagamātpratyayārthaḥ pradhānamiti niyamasya tyaktatvācca. kiṃ ca bhoktavyamityādau tiṅaṃ vināpi bhāvanā pratīyate, kārakāpekṣā ca dṛśyate. asti ca karotisāmānādhikaraṇyam. kiṃ ca bhoktavyamityādau tiṅaṃ vināpi bhāvanā pratīyate, kārakāpekṣā ca dṛśyate. asti ca karotisāmānādhikaraṇyam. kiṃ kartavyaṃ?, bhoktavyam, kiṃ kṛtavān?, bhuktavāniti. naca kṛtāmapi tavyadādīnāṃ bhāvanāvācakatvamastviti śaṅkyam, nāmārthayorabhedānvayānurodhena "kartari kṛ"diti tavyadādayaḥ karma#ādāviti parairapyabhyupagamāt. anyathā pācako devadattaḥ, paktavya odana ityatrā'bhedabodho na syāt. tathā ca dhātuvācyatvaṃ bhāvanāyā ityeva mataṃ ramaṇīyataramiti. lakārasya sāmānādhikaraṇyaṃ kartṛkarmābhidhāyina eva saṃbhavati na bhāvābhidhāyina ityāśayena vyācaṣṭe-- sāmānādhikaraṇayābhāvāditi. na caivaṃ yuṣmadasmadbhinnopapade samānādhikaraṇe devadattaḥ patītyādāviva prathamapuruṣeṇa bhāvyamiti prathamapuruṣo'pyatra na syāditi vācyaṃ, "śeṣe prathamaḥ" ityatra "madhyamottamayoraviṣaye prathamaḥ syā"diti vyākhyānāt. tiṅvācyeti. ghañāditavācyāyāstu sattvarūpatvamiṣṭameveti pākaṃ pākenetyādau yathāyathaṃ dvitīyādayaḥ pravartante. ata eva bhāṣyakṛtoktaṃ "kṛdabhihito bhāvo dravyavatprakāśate" iti. dravyadharmāṃlliṅgasaṅkhyākārakādīn gṛhṇātītyarthaḥ. ekavacanameveti. prāyovādo'yam. anyathā "uṣṭrāsikā āsyante" "hataśāyikāḥ śayyante" iti bhāṣye dhātvarthanirdeśe ṇvuli kṛdabhihito bhāvo dravyavatprakāśata ityāsikāḥ śāyikā ityatra bahuvacanasiddhāvapi āsyante śayyante ityatra tanna sidhyet. na ca karmaṇyevā'tra lakāro'stviti śaṅkyam, dhātudvayasyāpyakarmakatvena tadasaṃbhavāt, arthā'saṅgateśca. tatra hruṣṭrāṇāṃ yādṛśānyāsanāni hatānāṃ yādṛśāni śayanāni tādṛśāni devadattādi kartṛkānyāsanādīnītyarthaḥ. sādṛśyāvagamādiha ākhyātavācyasyāpi bhāvasya bhedā'vabhāsādbahuvacanam. na caivaṃ saṅkyānvayitve asattvarūpatā na syāditi vācyam, liṅgakriyā'nādhārakārakayogā'bhāvamātreṇā'sattvarūpatvamupapadyata iti kārakeṣūktatvāt. kecidiha uṣṭrāsikā-- hataśāyikāśabdayostatsadṛśe lakṣaṇāṃ svīkṛtya āsyanta ityādinā abhedānvayamāhuḥ. manoramāyāṃ tu āsikāḥ śāyikā iti ca dvitīyābahuvacanaṃ, kriyāviśeṣaṇatvena karmatvāt. na caivaṃ klībatvamekavacanāntatvaṃ ca syāditi vācyam, "striyāṃ kta"nnityadhikārātstrītvā'vadhāraṇena "sāmānye napuṃsaka"mityasyā'pravṛtteḥ. bahuvacanatvāvadhāraṇenaikavacanāpravṛtteścetyuktam. 1.Source: Arsha Vidya Gurukulam 2.Source: Sanskrit Documents |
