adantatvanipātanena caritārthatvāditi bhāvaḥ. nanu satyaśabdā`ttatkarotī' tyādinaiva
ṇic siddheḥ `satyāpe'ti sūtre satyagrahaṇaṃ vyarthamityata āha- satyasyāpugarthamiti.

tvacchabdāccakārāṇṇici ṭilope tvayatītyāpatterityata āha– tvaceti. `tvaca
saṃvaraṇe' ityasmāt `puṃsi saṃjñāyāṃ ghaḥ prāyeṇe'ti ghapratyayaya ityarthaḥ.
puṃvadbhāvādaya iti.ādinā rabhāvaṭilopādigrahaṇam. etayatīti. `bhasyā'ḍhe' iti
puṃvattvasya iṣṭhani pravṛtterṇāvapi tasyā'tideśāt `varṇādanudāttāditi
strīpratyayasya, tatsaṃniyogaśiṣṭanatvasyā'pi nivṛttau etayatīti
sidhyatītyasvarasātpuṃvadbhāve udāharaṇāntaramāha— daradamiti. daraditi kaścidrājā,
tasyāpatyaṃ dāradaḥ. `dvyañ?magadhe'tyaṇ. stryapatye tu darado'patyaṃ strī darat.
`ataśce'tyaṇo luk. tāmācaṣṭe ityarthe daracchabdāṇṇau iṣṭavattvāt ?puṃvattvena
striyāmityanuvṛttau `ataśce'ti striyāṃ vihitasya aṇpratyayaluko nivṛttau
dāradaśabde ṭerlope dādayatīti rūpaṃ sidhyati. puṃvadbhāvā'bhāve tu daracchabdasya ṭilope
sati darayatīti syāditi bhāvaḥ. ṭilopasya ajādeśatvena sthānivattvānnopadhāvṛddhi.
`pṛthuṃ mṛduṃ bhṛśaṃ caiva, kṛśaṃ ca dṛḍhameva ca. paripūrvaṃ vṛḍhaṃ caiva ṣaḍetān ravidhau
smaret'. iti. krameṇodāharati–pṛthumiti. `ācaṣṭe' iti śeṣaḥ. prathayati. tatra
prakriyāṃ darśayati– vṛddhau satyāmiti. pṛthu i iti sthite paratvādvṛddhau kṛtāyāṃ
ṭilopaḥ. athavā kṛtāyāmakṛtāyāṃ ca vṛddhau pravṛttyā nityatvādvṛddheḥ
prāk?ṭilopaḥ. ubhayathāpi `ra ṛtaḥ iti rabhāve prathayatīti rūpamiti bhāvaḥ.
vastutastvakṛtāyāṃ vṛddhau ukārasya lopaḥ, kṛtāyāṃ tu aukārasya lopaḥ. tathā ca
`śabdāntarasya prāpnuvan vidhiranityaḥ' iti ṭilopo'nityaḥ. tataśca
paratvāṭṭilopāt prāgvṛddhireveti `muṇḍamiśre'ti sūtre bhāṣye sthitam.
`vṛddhau satyāṃ pūrvaṃ vā ṭilopa' iti mūlaṃ tu kṛtā'kṛtaprasaṅgitvāṭṭilopasya
nityatvamabhipretyeti bodhyam. apiprathaditi. vṛddhau satyāṃ ṭilopa#e
aglopitvā'bhāvāt sanvattve `sanyataḥ' iti ittvamiti bhāvaḥ. apaprathaditi. vṛddheḥ
pūrvaṃ ṭilopena ukārasya nivṛttāvaglopitvātsanvattvānvattvā'bhāve rūpam.
ababhraśadityādau vṛddheḥ pūrvaṃ paścādvā ṭilope'pi aglopitvānna sanvattvamiti
bhāvaḥ. aujiḍhaditi. vahadhātoḥ ktini ḍhatvadhatvaṣṭutvaḍhalopeṣu ūḍhiḥ. tasmāṇṇau ṭilope
ūḍhi itiṇyantālluhi caṅi āṭi vṛddhau auḍhi a t iti sthite prakriyāṃ darśayati-
ḍhatvādīnāmiti. ḍhatvadhatvaṣṭutvaḍhalopānāmasiddhatvāt `ajāderdvitīyasye'ti
h?taśabdasya dvitvamityarthaḥ. ityuktamiti. `lugvikaraṇaprakriyāyāṃ
ūrṇuñdhātā'viti śeṣaḥ. evaṃ ca h? tiśabdasya dvitve halādiśeṣe `kuhoścu'riti
hasya cutvamiti bhāvaḥ. ḍhiśabdasyeti. `pūrvatrāsiddhīyamadvitve' itsya
kvacidanityatve'pyatra tadapravṛttau mānā'bhāvāditi bhāvaḥ. ūḍhamākhyaditi. vahadhātoḥ
ktapratyaye ḍhatvadhatvaṣṭutvaḍhalopeṣu ūḍhaśabdāṇṇyantālluṅi caṅi
ḍhatvādīnāmasiddhatvāt `h? te'tyasya dvitve halādiśeṣe abhyāsasya cutve rūpam.
auḍaḍhaditi. `pūrvatrāsiddhīyamadvitve' iti ḍhatvādīnāmasiddhatvā'bhāvapakṣe ḍhaśabdasya
dvitve rūpam. nanviha paratvāṭṭilope sati ṇicsahitasya h? tīti ḍhītyasya vā
dvitve kṛte abhyāse ikāra eva śrūyeta natvakāra ityata āha– oḥ puyaṇityādi.
svaśabdāṇṇici ṭilopamāśaṅkyāha– prakṛtyaikājiti. prakṛtibhāvāṭṭilopā'bhāve
akārasya vṛddhau ākāre pugāgamaḥ. tadāha– vṛddhipukāviti. tvāpayati māpayatītyatra
prakriyāṃ darśayati– maparyantasyeti. yuṣmadasmadbhyāṃ ṇau
`pratyayottarapadayośce'ti maparyantasay tvamau. tva ad i, ma ad i, iti sthite āha-
- pararūpāditi. kṛte akṛte ca pararūpe ṭilopasya pravṛtternityatvaṃ bodhyam. tva i
ma i iti stite āha– vṛddhiriti. akārasya ākāraḥ. ṭilopasya sthānivattavaṃ tu na
śaṅkyam, ajādeśatvā'bhāvāt. pugiti. `artī'tyaneneti bhāvaḥ. tadevaṃ
prācīnamatamupanyasyasvamatamāha– tvādayatītyādinā. tadevopapādayati –antaraṅgatvāditi.
tva ad i, ma ad i, iti sthite nityamapi ṭilopaṃ bādhitvā antaraṅgatvātpararūpe
kṛte `prakṛtyaikā'jiti prakṛtibhāve ṭilopasyā'pravṛttau upadhāvṛddhiriti bhāvaḥ. nanu
iṣṭhemeyassu kimudāharaṇamiti praśne preyān premā preṣṭa ityudāharaṇāni
pradaśrya, `naitadasti prayojanaṃ `prasthasphe'ti vihita prādīnāmābhīyatvenā'siddhatayā
tatra ṭilopā'prasakte' rityuktvā, śreyān śreṣṭha ityatra `praśasyasya śraḥ'
iti śrādeśasya pāñcamikatayā ābhīyatvābhāvenā'siddhatvā'bhāvāṭṭilope prāpte
prakṛtibhāvavidhi `rityudāharaṇāntaraṃ pradaśrya' `śrādeśe
akāroccāraṇasāmathryāṭṭilopo na bhaviṣyatī'tyuktvā, ruāgvitamaḥ ruājiṣṭha ityatra
`vinmatorlu'giti luki ṭilopanivṛttyarthaṃ prakṛtibhāvavidhānamityuktvā, prāpta
eva ṭilope ārabhyamāṇasya lukastadapavādatayā lukā ṭilopasya bādho bhaviṣyatī'ti
`prakṛtyaikā' jityasay bhāṣye pratyākhyātatvāttvādayati mādayatītyatra
prakṛtibhāvopanyāso na yujyate ityāśaṅkya nirākaroti – na cetyādi. kuta ityata āha-
- bhāṣyasyeti. udāhmatabhāṣyasya hi preyān preṣṭha ityādīnāṃ prakṛtibhāvaṃ
vinā'pi sādhane tātparyaṃ, na tu prakṛtatibhāvapratyākhyānamabhimatam, svamācaṣṭe
svapāyatītyādau tadāvaśyakatvāt. ata eva `prakṛtyaikājiṣṭhemeyassu cennaikāca
uccāraṇasāmathryādavacanātparkṛtibhāvaḥ' iti vārtikavyākhyāvasare `antareṇāpi vacanaṃ
prakṛtibhāvo bhaviṣyatī'ti bhāṣye uktam. anyathā `antareṇaiva vacana'
mityucyetetyāstāṃ tāvat. `pratyayottarapadayośce'tyatra `ekavacane'
ityanuvṛttam. tacca yaugikamāśrīyate. tena ekatvaviśiṣṭavācinoryuṣmadasmadoriti
labhyate iti matvā''ha yuvāmāvāṃ veti. na ca dvayoruktau yuvāvādeśau śaṅkyau,
vibhakterlukā luptatvāt. na ca lukaḥ prāgeva yuvāvau kiṃ na syātāmiti vācyam.
`antaraṅgānapi vidhīn bahiraṅgo lugbādhate' ityukteriti bhāvaḥ. śāvayatīti.

- nastaddhite iti. `prakṛtyaikā'jiti prakṛtibhāvamāśaṅkyāha– prakṛtibhāvastu neti.
kuta ityata āha– yeneti. `ṭe'riti ṭilope prāpte satyeva
`prakṛtyaikā'jityārabhyate, `nastaddhite' ityasya ruājiṣṭha ityādāvaprāptāvapi
prakṛtibhāva ārabhyate iti bhāvaḥ. bhatvāditi. iṣṭhavattvena bhatvāt `\ufffdāyuve'ta
saṃprasāraṇamityarthaḥ. tathā ca \ufffdān i iti sthite ṭilope sati
tasyābhīyatvenā'siddhatvādannantatvādvasya saṃprasāraṇe pūrvarūpe ukārasya
vṛddhāvāvādeśaḥ. anyetviti. iṣṭhani dṛṣṭasyaiva iṣṭhavadityatideśaḥ. ṭerityeva
ṭilopa iṣṭhani dṛṣṭo, na tu' `nastaddhite' iti. ato nā'syātideśa ityarthaḥ.
nanvatiśayena brāhṛā brāhiṛṣṭha ityatra nastaddhite iti ṭilopo dṛṣṭa ityata āha-
- brāhiṛṣṭha ityādāviti. teneti. `nastaddhite' ityasyā'pravartanenetyarthaḥ.
tataśca prakṛtibhāvāt `ṭeḥ' iti lopasyā'bhāve saṃprasāraṇe śunayatīti rūpamityarthaḥ.
āhurityasvarasodbhāvanam. tadbījaṃ tu brāhṛvacchabdādiṣṭhāni ṭeriti ṭilopāpavāde
`vinmatorlu'giti matupo luki `nastaddhite' iti ṭilopo dṛṣṭa eva. tataśca `iṣṭhani
tasyā'dṛṣṭatvā' dityatyuktam. kiṃ ca `brāhiṛṣṭha ityādau paratvāṭṭerityasya
pravṛtti'rityayuktam, kevalasya brāhṛnśabdas vedādivacanasya guṇavacanatvā'bhāvena
iṣṭhano durlabhatvāt, `ajādī guṇavacanādeve'tyukteḥ. matvantādiṣṭhani tu matorluki
tena `ṭe'rityasya pravṛttibādhena luguttaraṃ tadapravṛttyā
paratvādityapyasaṅgatiriti śabdenduśekhare sthitam. vidvayatīti. vidvas śabdāṇṇau
ṭilopaḥ. nanu iṣṭhavattvādbhatve `vasoḥ saṃprasāraṇmityāśaṅkyāha– aṅgavṛtteti.
`aṅgavṛtte punarvṛttāvavidhi'riti paribhāṣayetyarthaḥ. aṅgakārye kṛte
punarnāṅgakāryamiti tadarthaḥ. vastutastu vidvayatītyatra `ṭe'rityaso lope
vasvantatvā'bhāvātsaṃprasāraṇā'prasakteraṅgavṛttaparibhāṣopanyāso vṛthetyasvarasaṃ
sūcayati– ityeke iti. saṃprāsaraṇe iti. vidvacchabdāmṇau iṣṭhavattvena ṭilope kṛte
vakārasya saṃprasāraṇe pūrvarūpe ukārasya vṛddhau āvādeśe vidāvayatītyanye manynate
ityarthaḥ. atrāpi pūrvavadevā'svarasaḥ, ṭilope sati vasvantatvā'bhāvāt.
nityatvāditi. ṭilope kṛte akṛte ca pravṛtteḥ saṃprasāraṇaṃ nityam. ṭilopastu
kṛte saṃprasāraṇe pūrvarūpe ca kṛte uso bhavati, akṛte tu asa ityanityaḥ,
`śabdāntarasya prāpnuvanvidhiranityaḥ' iti nyāyāditi bhāvaḥ. nanu kṛte'pi
saṃprāsaraṇe pararūpātprāk asa eva ṭilopa iti tasyanityatvamityata āha-
- antaraṅgatvātpūrvarūpaṃ ṭilopa iti. saṃprasāraṇe pūrvarūpe ca kṛte uso lope'pi
vasvantatvasya vinaṅkṣyattvānna saṃprasāṇamityasvarasaṃ sūcayati– ityapare iti. evaṃ
ca vidvayatīti prathamapakṣa eva sthitaḥ. tatrāṅgavṛttapirabhāṣopanyāsa eva vṛtheti sthitam.
udīcayatīti. utpūrvakādañceḥ ṛtvigityādinā kvini `aniditā'miti nalope
udacśabdaḥ. tasmāṇṇau iṣṭhavattvena bhatvādaca ityakāralopaṃ bādhitvā `uda ī'diti
īttve `udīcī'ti ṇyantāllaḍādaya iti bhāvaḥ. udaiciditi. luṅi `dvirvacane'cī'ti
ṇilopaniṣedhācciśabdasya dvitvam. `upasargasamānākāraṃ pūrvapadaṃ dhātusaṃjñāprayojake
pratyaye cikīrṣite pṛthak kriyate' ityukteruda uparyāḍiti bhāvaḥ. evaṃ ca udaḥ
pṛthakkaraṇena `prakṛtyaikājiti prakṛtibhāvānna ṭilopaḥ. pratīcayatīti. `aca' ityallope
`cau' iti pūrvasya dīrghaḥ. pratyacicaditi. iha aca ityallope ciśabdātprāgaṭi
takārādikārasya yaṇ aca ityakāralopasyābhīyatve'pi asamānāśrayatvānnā'siddhatvam,
lopasya ṇinimittatvāt, āṭastu luṅ?nimittatvāt. iko'savarṇe itīti. `na samāse'
iti tu na, pṛthakkaraṇena samāsanivṛtteḥ. samīcayatīti. `samaḥsami' iti samyādeśaḥ. `aca' iti
lope `cā' viti dīrghaḥ. samyacicaditi. samyādeśasya sthānivattvenopasargatvāt
pṛthakkaraṇam, pṛthakkaraṇena uttarapadaparatvā'bhāve'pynataraṅgatvājjātaḥ samyādeśo na
nivartate. tirāyayatīti. `tira'sityavyayam. tatpūrvādañceḥ kvini nalope tiras ac
ityasmāṇṇau ṭilopena dhātornivṛttau `tirasastiryalope' iti tiribhāve ikārasya
vṛddhāvāyādeśe `tirāyī' tyasmāṇṇynatāllaḍādīti bhāvaḥ. na ca tirasaḥ pṛthakkaraṇe sati
dhātoḥ `prakṛtyaikā'jiti prakṛtibhāvātkathaṃ ṭilopa iti vācyaṃ, tirasityasya
kadāpyanupasargatayā upasargasamānākāratvā'bhāvena pṛthakkaraṇā'bhāvāt. nanvevaṃ sati

ityanvayaḥ. tiras ac i iti sthite prathamapravṛttaḥ ac ityevaṃrūpaṭerlopaḥtire
ṭilope kartavye ābhīyatvādasiddha ityarthaḥ. nanu prathamaṭilopasya kathaṃ tireṣṭilope
kartavye asiddhatvaṃ, ṭilopaśāstrasya ekatvādityata āha– ciṇo luṅ?nyāyeneti.
pacadhātorbhāvakarmaṇorluṅastaṅi prathamapuruṣaikavacane taśabde pare `ciṇ bhāvakarmaṇo'riti
cleściṇi upadhāvṛddhau aṭi apāci ta ityasmāt `tiṅaśce'ti tarapi tadantāt
`kimettiṅavyayaghādā'mityāmpratyaye apācitatarāmiti sthite `ciṇo lu'giti prathamasya
taśabdasya luki kṛte punastarappratyayataśabdasya luṅ na bhavati, sthānibhedena luko
bhedamāśritya prathamaluko'siddhatvena vyavadhānāditi sthitiḥ. evamihāpītyarthaḥ. ata
iti. pratamaṭilopasyā'siddhtvādityarthaḥ. aṅgavṛttaparibhāṣayā veti. `punaṣṭilope
ne'tyanuṣajyate. na ca tirerikārasyāṅgavṛttaparibhāṣayā `ṭe'riti lopā'bhāve tirāyayatīti
vṛddhirapi tasya na syāditi vācyam, aṅgavṛttaparibhāṣāyā anityatvena vṛddhiviṣaye
tadapravṛtteḥ. aglopitvāditi. tiras ac i iti sthite `ṭe'rityaco dhātorlope
sati tiri ityasya aglopitvam,aco dhātorlope akārasyāpi lopasattvādityabhimānaḥ.

viṣvadrāyayatīti rūpam. devadra\ufffdñcamiti. devaśabdasya ṭeradra\ufffdādeśe
devadrāyayatīti siddhavatkṛtya luṅyāha– adidevadrāyaditi. atitirāyaditivadrūpam.
ādadadrāyaditi. sarvanāmatvādadasśabdasya ṭeradra\ufffdādeśaḥ. `tyadādyatve satyeva

pṛthaṅmutva'miti mate dakārā'kārayordakārarephayośca matvettvayoḥkṛtayoḥ amumu i iti
stite prathamasya ikārasya ṇici vṛddhau āyādeśe amumu āyīti ṇyantāllaḍādīti bhāvaḥ.

guṇe ayādeśe dūrayacchabdasya dūrayatīti saptamyantamiti bhāvaḥ. tadāha–dūrātaṃ
kurvatītyartha iti. `kurvatī'ti saptamyantam. yavayatīti. yuvanśabdāṇṇau
sthūladūreti vano yaṇāderlopaḥ. pūrvasya ukārasya guṇe avādeśaḥ. yavi
ityasmāllaḍādi. kanayatīti. yuvanśabdasya kanādeśapakṣe rūpam. tadāha– yuvālpayoriti.
nedayatīti. antikaśabdasya ṇau nedādeśaḥ, `antikabāḍhayornedasādhā'vityukteḥ.
sādhayatīti. bāḍhaśabdasya ṇau sādhādeśaḥ. iheti. praśasyayatītyatra `praśasyasya śraḥ'
`jya ce'ti śrajyau natyarthaḥ. kuta ityata āha– upasargasyeti. tatpṛthakkaraṇe sati
viśiṣṭasya sthānino'bhāvānnādeśāviti bhāvaḥ. vṛddhaṃ– jyāpayatīti. `vṛddhasya ce'ti
vṛddhaśabdasya jyādeśe vṛddhau pugiti bhāvaḥ. `priyasthire'ti sūtrakrameṇodāharati-

"ācaṣṭe" iti śeṣaḥ. prathayati. tatra prakriyāṃ darśayati-- vṛddhau satyāmiti. pṛthu i iti sthite paratvādvṛddhau kṛtāyāṃ ṭilopaḥ. athavā kṛtāyāmakṛtāyāṃ ca vṛddhau pravṛttyā nityatvādvṛddheḥ prāk()ṭilopaḥ. ubhayathāpi "ra ṛtaḥ iti rabhāve prathayatīti rūpamiti bhāvaḥ. vastutastvakṛtāyāṃ vṛddhau ukārasya lopaḥ, kṛtāyāṃ tu aukārasya lopaḥ. tathā ca "śabdāntarasya prāpnuvan vidhiranityaḥ" iti ṭilopo'nityaḥ. tataśca paratvāṭṭilopāt prāgvṛddhireveti "muṇḍamiśre"ti sūtre bhāṣye sthitam.
