`jātiraprāṇinā'mityādinityaikavattvasya tatrā'pravṛttyā
tannivṛttyarthatvā'saṃbhavādityata āha–evaṃ pūrvāparamadharottaramityapīti. yathā
mṛgaśakunigrahaṇaṃ mṛgaira#eva mṛgāṇāṃ, śakunīnāṃ taireva ubhayatra dvandvaḥ, evaṃ
pūrvaśabdasya aparaśabdenaiva, adharaśabdasya uttaraśabdenaiva ubhayatra=itaretarayoge samāhāre ca
dvandvaḥ, anyena tu saha pūrvottarāvityādau itaretarayoge eveti niyamārthaṃ
pūrvāparagrahaṇamadharottaragrahaṇaṃ cetyarthaḥ. nanva\ufffdāvaḍavagrahaṇaṃ vyarthaṃ,
senāṅgatve'pi paśudvandvatvādeva ekavadbhāvavikalpasiddherityata āha–
a\ufffdāvaḍaveti. napuṃsakatvavikalpārthamityarthaḥ. nanu samāhārasya ekatvādeva
ekavattvasiddheridamekavattvaprakaraṇaṃ samāhāra eva dvandva iti niyamārthamityuktam.
tathā ca paśudvandvatvādekavattvavikalpe sati samāhāre vā, itaretarayoge vā dvandva
ityaniyamaḥ paryavasyati. evaṃca samāhāradvandavapakṣe `sa napuṃsaka'miti napuṃsakatvam,
itaretarayoge tu neti napuṃsakatvavikalpasya siddhatvāda\ufffdāvaḍavagrahaṇaṃ vyarthamevetyata
āha–anyatheti. iha napuṃsakatvavidhyabhāve samāhāradvandvapakṣe'pi `sa napuṃsaka'miti
napuṃsakatvaṃ bādhitvā paratvāt `pūrvapadasvavaḍavau' iha puṃstvaṃ syāt. napuṃsakavidhau
