kiñca vṛttisamānārthena vākyana bhavitavyam. na ca vṛttau bāhraṃ kaṭādikaṃ karma gamyate yena pratyaya utpādayiṣyate. vākye kaṭādikarmāpekṣā niṣprayojaneti gamyate. tasmādevaṃ vigrahaḥ katrtavyaḥ-- kṛtaṃ pūrvamaneneti. tataśca nāsti sāpekṣatvamiti bhavatyeva taddhitaḥ.
"itarathā hi" iti. yadi śeṣagarhaṇamanuvatrtata ityarthaḥ. "katrtari ca kṛtītyevaṃ brāūyāt" iti. evamapi hrucyamāne śeṣa ityanuvṛttau cakārakaraṇāt karmaṇītyetallabhyata eva, kiṃ karmagrahaṇena? tasmāt punaḥ karmagrahaṇaṃ śeṣādhikarānivṛttyartham. punaḥ karmagrahaṇena hi pūrvasya karmagrahaṇasya nivṛttirākhyāyate. tannivṛttau tatsambaddhamanuvṛttamapi śeṣagrahaṇaṃ nivatrtate॥
