"vaktavyaḥ" iti. vyākhyeya ityarthaḥ. tatredaṃ vyākhyānam-- uttarasūtre 1.4.53 anyatarasyāṃgrahaṇamubhayoryogayoḥ śeṣabhūto vijñāyate, sā ca vyavasthitavibhāṣā; tena nīvahrorna bhaviṣyati.
"vaheḥ" ityādi. niyacchati = viśiṣṭe viṣaye'vasthāpayatīti niyantā sārathiḥ, avidyamāno niyantā katrtā yasya sa tathoktaḥ, tasya. "nīvahyoḥ pratiṣedho vaktavyaḥ" (vā.62) iti yo'nantaroktaḥ sa vaheraniyantṛkarttṛkasya bhavatītyetadartharūpaṃ vyākhyeyamityarthaḥ. tatredaṃ vyākhyānam-- tasyaivānyatarasyāṃgrahaṇasya vyavasthitavibhāṣā tvānniyantṛkarttṛkasya vaheḥ karmasaṃjñā bhaviṣyatīti.

"bhakṣayati balīvarddān śasyam" iti. bhakṣiratra hiṃsārthaḥ. "sarve sacetanā bhāvāḥ" ityasmin darśe hiṃsitaṃ śasyamiti śasyasya bhakṣaṇena devadatto hiṃsito bhavati. yasya hi tacchasyaṃ tasya hiṃsā gamyate.

hariṇā–`guṇakriyāyāṃ svātantryāt preṣaṇe karmatāṃ gataḥ. niyamāt karmasaṃjñāyāḥ

prerayatītyarthaḥ. `niyantā prājitā yantā sūtaḥ kṣattā ca sārathiḥ' ityamaraḥ.
`vahanti balīvardā yavān, vāhayati balīvardān devadattaḥ' iti bāṣyodāharaṇānniyantā
paśupreraka eva vivakṣitaḥ.\r\nadikhādyorneti. ada bhakṣaṇe, khādṛ bhakṣaṇe, anayoḥ

gatibuddhipratyavasānārthaśabdakarmā'karmakāṇāmaṇi kartā sa ṇau 479, 1.4.52 gatibuddhi. pratyavasānaṃ-bhakṣaṇam. śabdakarmaṇāmiti. śabdaḥ karma kārakaṃ yeṣāṃ teṣāmityarthaḥ. karmaśabdo hratra kārakaparaḥ, na tu "kartari karmavyatihāre"ityatreva kriyāparaḥ, kṛtrime kāryasampratyayāt, karmagrahaṇasāmathryācca. anyathā hi "gativuddhipratyavasānaśabdārthā'karmakāṇāmityeva brāūyāt. aṇau yaḥ karteti. anupatpanne ṇici--śuddha dhātuvācyāṃ kriyāṃ pratiḥ yaḥ kartā sa ṇyantadhātuvācyāṃ kriyāṃ prati karmasañjñaḥ syādityarthaḥ. niyamārthametatsūtramiti prāñcaḥ. "ṇijarthenā''pyamānasya yadi bhavati tarhi gatyarthādīnāmeva kartu"riti. tena pācayati devadatto yajñadattenetyatra prayojye kartari prakṛtyarthaṃ prati kartṛtvasyaiva nirapavādatvenā'vastānāttṛtīya sidhyati. uktaṃ ca--"guṇikriyāyāṃ svātantryātpreṣaṇe karmatāṃ gataḥ. niyamātkarmasañjñāyāḥ svadharmeṇābhidhīyate" iti. kartuḥ svadharmeṇa--tṛtīyayetyarthaḥ. nanu ṇijarthaṃ prati kartṛtvaṃ bādhitvā prakṛtyarthaṃ prati kartṛtvaṃ paratvādeva siddham, antaraṅgatvācca. svakārakaviśiṣṭā hi kriyā ṇijarthena sambadhyate, hetumati ṇijvidhānāt. kartṛprayojakasya hetutvāt. ataeva upajīvyā'pi kartṛsañjñā. evañca---"paratvādantaraṅgatvādupajīvyatayā'pi ca. prayojyasyāstu kartṛtvaṃ gatyādervidhitocitā". yadyapi vidhipakṣe'pi lakṣyaṃ nirbādhameva, tathāpi niyamasūtramidamiti prācāṃ grantho virudhyata iti cet. atrāhuḥ--ṇijarthasya śābdaṃ prādhānyaṃ puraskṛtya pradhānānurodhinyāḥ karmasañjñāyāḥ prābalyādvipratiṣedha eva nāstīti paratvātkartṛtvasiddhirityetanna saṅgacchate. antaraṅgatvepajīvyatve api pradhānaṃ prati prābalyaṃ na prayojayataḥ, tataśca niyamārthatvektiḥ prācāṃ nirbādhaiveti. gatyādiṇyantānkrameṇodāharati--śatrūniti. śatravaḥ svargamagacchan, tān śrīhariḥ svargamagamayaditi--gameraṇyantāvasthāyāṃ śatravaḥ kartāraste ṇyantāvasthāyāṃ karma abhavan. svakarmakaṃ śatruniṣṭhaṃ yadgamanaṃ tadanukūlo yanniṣṭo vyāpāraḥ sa śrīharirme gatiriti vākyārthaḥ. evamagre'pyūhram. vedārthamiti. sve=svakīyā vedārthamaviduḥ, tān śrīharivedārthamavedayat. tathā devā amṛtam āśran, tānāśayat. vidhiḥ vedamadhyaita, taṃ brāhṛāṇaṃ vedamadhyāpayat--apāṭhayat. salile pṛthvī āsta, tāṃ yo harirāsayatsthāpayatisma sa harirme gatirityanvayaḥ. nanu śatrūṇa#āmanena karmatve kṛte karmaṇa īpsitatamaḥ svārgo, na tu karturiti karturīpsitatamatvā'bhāvātsbargasya karmatvaṃ na syāt. atra kecit---"gatibuddhi---"iti karmatvasya bahiraṅgatvena tataḥ pūrvameva dhātvarthavyāpāraprayuktaṃ karmatvaṃ svargasya nirvādhamityadoṣa iti. anyetu---"karturīpsitatamam---"ityatra kartṛgrahaṇaṃ svatantrasyopalakṣaṇam. svātantre saṅketitasya kartṛ padasya tatraiva lakṣaṇā na saṅgacchate, ekasyaikasminnevārthe śaktilakṣaṇobhayābhyupagasya śāstrakārā'sammatatvāditi vācyam, sañjñāntarānupahitasvatantre saṅketitasya sañjñāntaropahitānupahitasādhāraṇe svatantre lakṣaṇābhyupagame bādhakā'bhāvāt. ataeva jidhātorjaye śaktiḥ, prakṛṣyajaye lakṣaṇā. "śakyādanyena rūpeṇa jñāte bhavati lakṣaṇā"iti. tena prajayatītyatra praśabdo dyotakaḥ, prakṛṣṭajayastu jidhātorevārtha iti naiyāyikoktiḥ saṅgacchate. nāpi kartṛpadasya svatantralakṣaṇāyāṃ pramāṇā'bhāvaḥ śaṅkyaḥ. "pradhānakarmaṇyākhyeye lādīnāhurdvikarmaṇām. apradhāne duhādīnām" ityuktvā "ṇyante kartuśca karmaṇaḥ"itivadato bhāṣyakārasyaiva pramāṇatvāt. na hi lakṣaṇāṃ vinā ṇijantānāṃ dvikarmakatā labhyate, yena "ṇyante kratuḥ"iti vacanaṃ sāvakāśaṃ syādityāhuḥ.nīvahrorna. nīvahroriti. yadyapyanayoḥ prapaṇamartho na gatiḥ, tathāpi gatirapi viśeṣaṇībhūya prāpaṇamamadhye praviṣṭetyetāvanmātreṇa prā()pta matvā pratiṣedha uktaḥ.niyantṛkartṛkasya vaheraniṣedhaḥ. niyantriti. niyantā paśiprerakaḥ, na tu sārathireveti. tena "vāhayati balīvardānyavā"niti sidhyati. asmādeva bhāṣyodāharaṇāt "rūḍhiryogamapaharati"iti nyāyo'tra na svīkriyate. aniṣedha iti. "prayojyaḥ karme"ti vaktavyamiti phalito'rthaḥ. yaistu prāpaṇaṃ gatiśabdena gṛhrate yaurvā na gṛhrate ubhayeṣāmapīdaṃ vacanamāvasyakam. "nīvahrorne"ti vacanaṃ tu yaiḥ prāpaṇaṃ gatiśabdena gṛhrate teṣāmanāvaśyakamiti bodhyam. sūta iti. "niyantā prājitā yantā sūtaḥ kṣattā ca sārathiḥ" ityamaraḥ. pratyavasānārthatvātkarmatve prāpte niṣedhamāha---.adikhādyorna. adikhādyoriti. "ada bhakṣaṇe" "khādṛ bhakṣaṇe". prācā tu ādīti paṭa()te, tattu ṇyantāvasthānukaraṇamiti bodhyam. ādayatīti. "iha nigaraṇacalanārthebyaśca"iti parasmaipadaniyamo na pravartate, "adeḥ pratiṣedhaḥ" ithi tasya niṣiddhatvāt. tenā'kratrrabhiprāye kriyāphale "śeṣātkartari"--iti parasmaipadam, katrrabhiprāye tu "ṇicaśca"ityātmanepadaṃ bhavatyeveti bodhyam.bhakṣerahiṃsārthasya. nanu "gatibuddhi--"iti sūtreṇā'ṇau kartṛrṇau karmatvaṃ vidhīyate na tu ṇau karturiti prāpterevā'bhāvānniṣedho'yaṃ vyartha iti cet. atrāhuḥ--hetumaṇṇijante vidhiriti niṣedho'pyaṇāvityayaṃ sannidhānāddhetumaṇṇijviṣaya eva, tena curādiṇijante'pi bhakṣayatau prāptisattvāttanniṣedha upasaṅkhyāta iti. bhakṣayatīti. balīvardāḥ sasyaṃ bhakṣayanti. tān bhakṣayatītyarthaḥ. kṣetrasthānāṃ yavānāṃ bhakṣyamāṇānāṃ hiṃsā jñeyā, tasyāmavasthāyāṃ teṣāṃ cetanatvāt.jalpati prabhṛti nāmupasaṅkhyānam. jalpapatiparbhṛtīnāmamiti. "śabdakarmaṇā"mityasya śabdaḥ karmakārakaṃ yeṣāmityarthāt. anyathā "vedamadhyāpayadvidhimityāderasiddhiprasaṅgāt. evaṃ putro yatkiñcidvilapati, taṃ vilāpayatītyādyapyūhram.dṛśeśca. smārayatīti. ādhyānārthakasyaiva smarateḥ "ghaṭādayo mitaḥ"iti mittvaṃ, na cintārthakasyeti bhāvaḥ.śabdāyaterna. devadatteneti. "smārayatyenaṃ vanagulma"ityatra tu "ṇeraṇau---"iti sūtre bhāṣye prayogādeba karmatvaṃ bodhyam. śabdāyayatīti. śabdaṃ karotītyarthe "śabdavaira---"ityādīnā kyaṅ. tato hetumaṇṇic. dhātvartha saṃgṛhīteti. etena "śabdāyayati sainikai ripū"niti karma prayuñjānāḥ parāstāḥ. na tvavivakṣitakarmāṇo'pīti. yathā "laḥ karmaṇi ca"iti sūtre avivakṣitakarmāṇo'pyakarmakā iti gṛhrante, tathaivehāpi yadi gṛhreran tadā odanādikarmaṇo'vivakṣāyāṃ "pācayati devadatta"miti syāt, na tu devadattena pācayatīti. evaṃ "gatyārthākarmaka---"iti sūtre'pyavivakṣitakarmāṇo'karmakā iti na gṛhrante. dattavān pakvavān ityarthe dattaḥ pakva ityāpatteḥ. yattu prācā--"ayakrandaśabdāyahveñāṃ na"ityuktaṃ, tadayuktam. ayaterniṣedhas nirmūlatvena aṇau karturṇau karmatvasya tatreṣṭatvāt. krandahveñostu śabdakriyatve'pi śabdaḥ karma kārakaṃ neti prāpterevā'bhāvāccetisthitaṃ manoramāyām. yadyapi "śrugrahadṛśāmiti karmatvamuktaṃ, tatra dṛśigrahaṇaṃ prāmāṇikameva. śrṛṇotestu śabdakarmakatvātsiddham. grāherdvikarmakatvaṃ yadyapi "añi grahattaṃ janaka#o dhanustatiti bhaṭṭiprayogasya, "ayācitāraṃ na hi devadevamadriḥ sutāṃ grahayituṃ śaśāke"ti kālidāsaprayogasya cā'nuguṇaṃ, tathāpi bahūnāmasammatameva. ataeva "taṃ bodhitavān, sutāṃ grāhayitum udvāhratvena bodhayitumityevamuktaprayogaṃ samarthayāñcakrire. na ca buddyarthatvaṃ vināpi yathāśrutārthesa eva grāhordvikarmakatvamastviti vācyam, tathā hi sati "jāyāpratigrāhitagandhamālyā"mityatra ktapratyayenā'bhidhānaṃ prayojyakarmībhūtadhenoḥ syānna tu gandamālyakarmaṇaḥ, "ṇyante kartuśca karmaṇaḥ"ityukteḥ. jāyāpreritā hi dhenurgandhamālye pratigṛhṇātīti bhavatyeva dhenuḥ prayojyakarma. tataśca "jayayā gandhamālye pratigrāhitā"miti syāt, ktapratyayānabhihitatvena gandhamālyakarmaṇi dvitīyāyāḥ pravṛtteḥ. siddhānteḥ. siddhānte tu jāyayā pratigrāhite gandhamālye yayeti vigrahaḥ, dvikarmakatvā'bhāvena gandhamālyasyaiva ktapratyayenā'bhihitatvāt. "yaye"ti tṛtīyā tu ṇijarthaṃ prati jāyāyāḥ kartṛtve'pi ṇicprakṛtyarthaṃ pratigrahaṃ prati dhenoḥ kartṛtvādupapadyate. evañceha jāyāniṣṭhapreraṇaviṣayībhūtaṃ gandhamālyakarmakaṃ yatpratigrahaṇaṃ tattatrrīmiti vṛttyarthaḥ. yadyapi dhenukartṛkaṃ jāyāniṣṭhapreraṇāviṣayībhūtaṃ gandhamālyakarmakaṃ yatpratigrahaṇaṃ tatkarmībhūte gandhamālye ithi vigrahārthaḥ, tathāpyanyapadārthāntarabhāveṇaiva viśeṣaṇaviśeṣaṣyabhāvavaiparītyenaikārthībhāvaḥ kalpyata iti nāstyatrā'nupapattiriti dik.
