When the pronoun asmad "I," understood and also when expressed, is the attendant word in agreement with the verb, then there is the verbal termination called the Highest or the 1st person. Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0

Uttamá (first person) triplets are introduced [after a verbal stem] when (the pronominal stem) asmád- `we' [co-occurs as a complementary word (upapadá) either expressed (or implied) and denotes the same thing 105].
