tatrāsāvupatiṣṭhate. nanu yadi svarūpapadārthasyeka ityasyeha sannidhānam, sthānī na
nirdiṣṭaḥ syāt, tataśca na jñāyate kasya guṇavṛddhī pratiṣidhyete iti? naiṣa doṣaḥ. sāmathryādika eva guṇavṛddhayoḥ pratiṣedho'yaṃ gamyate. na hranyasyeka itīmaṃ śabdumu-
ccārya guṇavṛddhī vidhīyete. atha vā " yadyapīkparibhāṣā vidhyaṅgaśeṣabhūtā, tathāpīhāsa-

nirdiśyate. iha tu nirdiśyate sthānī, tasmādikparibhāṣāyā vyāpārābhāvādbhavati
pratyudāharaṇ. "mṛjeḥ" ityādi. kathaṃ punariṣyamāṇāpi sā labhyate? yathā labhyate tathā
śrūyatāma. "aco ñṇiti" ś7.2.115 ityatra "mṛjervṛddhiḥ" 7.2.114 iti vartate, "jarāyā jarasanyatarasyām" 7.2.101 ityato'nyatarasyāṃ grahaṇaṃ ca maṇḍūkaplutinyāyenānuvatrtate, sā ca vyavasthitavibhāṣā. "acaḥ" iti yogavibhāgaḥ kriyate. mṛjerajādau saṃkrame vibhāṣā vṛddhirbhavati, anyatra na bhavatyeva.
"laghūpadhaguṇasyāpyatra pratiṣedhaḥ" iti. etena saṃkramatvaṃ darśayati. anye tu
uttarasūtre "kaṇitā ()āḥ" raṇitā ()āḥ" ityanantaramanena granthena bhavitavyamiha tu durvinyastakākupadajanitabhrāntibhiḥ kulekhakairlikhitamiti varṇayanti. atha vā- nimittasapta-
myā evedaṃ phalaṃ darśitamiti mantavyam. "acinavam, asanuvam" ityatra laṅo ṅitvāt
