bahuvrīhi kṛtvā vastrāntarāśca vasanāntarāśceti dvandvaḥ kṛtaṛ. atra vatrtamā-
natvād dvandvasya "dvandve ca" 1.1.60, "vibhāṣā jasi" 1.1.31 iti dvandvā-
śrito vibhāṣāpratiṣedhaḥ syāt, na nityo bahuvrīhrāśritaḥ. punarbahuvrīhigrahaṇā-ttu bhūtapūrvasyāpi bahuvrīherāśrayamāt tadāśrayo nityaḥ pratiṣedho bhavati. vasanaśabda-

bahuvrīhiṃ darśayati–tvakaṃ pitetyādinā. sarvanāmatvā'bhāvātkapratyaye
`pratyayottarapadayośce'ti tvamādeśe tvatko matka iti ca rūpam. nanu
bahuvrīhipravṛtteḥ prāgalaukikavigrahavākye sarvanāmatvaniṣedhāttvaṃ piteti kathaṃ
lokikavigrahavākyapradarśanamityata āha–iheti. `na bahuvrīhā'vityasminsūtra
ityarthaḥ. prakriyāvākya iti. yuṣmad s-pitṛ s, asmad s-pita#ṛ s–
ityalaukikavigrahavākya evetyarthaḥ. lokikavigrahavākye tu nāyaṃ niṣedhaḥ,
bahuvrīhivattasya svārthe pariniṣṭhitatvena svatantraprayogāhrmatayā
bahuvrīhestatra cikīrṣitatvā'bhāvādalaukikavigrahātmake prakriyāvākya eva tasya
cikīrṣitatvāt. yathā caitattathā samāsanirūpaṇe vakṣyate nanvalaukikavigrahavākye māstu

laukikavigrahavākye samāse ca śravaṇaniyamāditi bhāvaḥ. ubhayatrāpi tanniyame
dṛṣṭāntadvayamāha–atikrānto bhavakantamityādi. bhavacchabandasya sarvādigaṇe
pāṭhātsarvanāmatvādalaukikavigrahadaśāyāmakac. tataśca bhavakat am ati
ityalaukikavigrahavākyaṃ saṃpadyate. tatra `atyādayaḥ krāntādyarthe dvitīyaye'ti
samāse sati `supo dhātuprātipadikayo'riti subluki
atibhavakacchabdātprathamaikavacane.ñatibhavakāniti rūpam. samāsā'bhāvapakṣe tu
bhavakantamatikrānta iti laukikavigrahavākyaṃ bhavati. tatra samāsadaśāyāṃ bhavacchabdārthasya
svopasaṅkāntārthāntarapradhānatayopasarjanatve.ñapyalaukikavigrahadaśāyāṃ
bhavacchabdasyānupasarjanatvātsarvanāmatve sati pravṛtto'kac atikrānto bhavakantamiti
laukikavigrahavākye'bhavakāniti samāse cānuvartate, laukikavigrahadasāyāṃ

vināśonmukhatvādakṛtavyūhaparibhāṣayā'laukikavigrahavākye'pi
sarvanāmatvā'bhāvādakajdurlabhaḥ. tataścā'tikrānto bhavakantamiti
lokikavigrahavākye'tibhavakāniti samāse ca kathamakacprasakta iti dṛṣṭānta'siddhiriti
vācyam. evañjātīyakā'laukikavigrahavākye sarvanāmatvapravṛttāvakṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyā
anityatvenā'nāpravṛtteḥ. tadanityatve ca na bahuvrīhāviti sūtrameva jñāpakam. tathā

nacodāhmatabahuvrīhiviṣayā'sokikavigravākye'kṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāmāśrityaiva
sarvanāmatvā'bhāva āśrīyatāṃ, kiṃ na bahuvrīhāviti sūtreṇeti vācyam. evaṃ
satyatikrānto bhavakantamatibhavakanityādi na sidhyet. akṛtavyūhaparibhāṣayā
tadalaukikavigrahavākye'pi sarvanāmatvā'bhāvenākacaḥ pravṛttyabhāve tasyātikrānto
bhavakantamityādilaukikavigrahavākye'tibhavakāniti samāse'pi ca śravaṇaṃ na syāt. evañca
bahuvrīhiviṣaye'laukikavigrahavākye'kṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyā apravṛttyasiddhavatkṛtya
sarvanāmatvaniṣedhāttaditarasamāsaviṣaye'pyalaukikavigrahavākye'kṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyā
apravṛttyā sarvanāmatvaṃ vijñāyate. etadarthameva na bahuvrīhāviti sūtramityanyatra
vistaraḥ. pratyācakhyāviti. nirākṛtavānityarthaḥ. sūtrabhāṣyayorubhayorapi
smṛtitvā'viśeṣādvikalpamāśaṅkayāha–yathottaramiti. sūtrakārādvārtikakārasya,
ubhābhyāmapi bhāṣyakṛta ityevaṃ munīnāmuttarottarasya granthasya prāmāṇyaṃ,
pūrvapūrvasyā'prāmāṇyamiti vaiyākaraṇasamaya iti bhāvaḥ. na cā'kṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyā
uktarītyā anityatvajñāpanārthametatsūtramiti vācyam, akṛtavyūhaparibhāṣāyā
nimūrlatvasya niṣphalatvasya ca halantādikāre sedivasśabdanirūpaṇe, `samarthānāṃ
prathamādre'tyatra ca vakṣyamāṇatvāt. saṃjñopasarjanībhūtā iti. ādhunikasaṅketaḥ
saṃjñā. anyaviśeṣaṇatvena svārthopasthāpakam–upasarjanam. na sarvādaya iti. sarvādigaṇe
paṭhitā na bhavantītyarthaḥ.
sarveṣāṃ nāmānītyanvarthasaṃjñākaraṇabalena prādhānyenopasthitasvīyasarvārthavācakatvasya
sarvanāmaśabdapravṛttinimittatvamityavagatatayā tathāvidhānāmeva sarvādigaṇe
pāṭhānumānādityarthaḥ. `prādhānyenopasthite'tyanena upasarjanavyāvṛttiḥ.
`prādhānyenopasthitasarvārthavācakatva'mityukte pūrvādiśabdeṣvavyāptirataḥ-
`svīye'ti. sarvārthe'tyanena saṃjñāśabdavyāvṛttiḥ,
saṃjñāśabdānāmekaikavyaktiviṣayakatvāt. saṃjñākāryamiti. sarvanāmasaṃjñākāryaṃ
śīsmāyādikamityarthaḥ. antargaṇeti. sarvādigaṇe'ntargato gaṇaḥ-antargaṇaḥ. tadīyaṃ
kāryam =`adḍḍatarādibhyaḥ' tyadādīnāmaḥ' ityādikamityarthaḥ. sarvāya dehīti.
saṃjñāśabdatvātsamāyādeśo na. \r\natikataramiti. kataramatikrāntaṃ kulam
atikataramityatra kataraśabdasya upasarjanatvānnā'dḍādeśaḥ. atitaditi. tamatikrānto
