khit खित्

Definition: characterized by the mute letter ख्, applied to kṛt affixes which, by reason of their being खित्, cause (a) the addition of the augment मुम् (म्) to the preceding words अरुस्, द्विषद् and words ending in a vowel, and (b) the shortening of the long vowel of the preceding word if it is not an indeclinable; cf. P. VI. 3.66-68.
