gaya plāta गय प्लात

Definition: (* son of Plati ’) is referred to in the Rigveda, two hymns of which he clearly claims to have composed, and which are attributed to him in the Sarvānukramanī and the Aitareya Brahmana. In the Atharvaveda he appears with Asita and Kaśyapa as a half-mythical magician.
