Definition: अमङ्गल ल्य a. 1 Inauspicious, evil, ill; R.12.43; ˚अभ्यासरतिम् Ku.5.65; अमङ्गल्यं शीलं तव भवतु नामैकमखिलम् Puṣpadanta. -2 Unlucky, unfortune. -लः The castor-oil tree (एरण्ड). -लम् Inauspiciousness, ill-luck; evil; oft. used in dramatic literature; शान्तं पापं प्रतिहतम- मङ्गलम्; cf. God forbid.
