manor avasarpaṇa Is the name, in the śatapatha Brāhmana, of the mountain on which the vessel of Manu rested. In the Epic the name is Naubandhana, but the view that it is alluded to as Nāvaprabhramśana in the Atharvaveda is now abandoned.
saṃsarpa See Māsa.
sasarpa Is a word occurring in two curious verses of the Rigveda. According to a later interpretation, it designates a particular kind of skill in speech which Viśvāmitra obtained from Jamadagni. What it was is quite uncertain.
