Is the name of an aquatic bird mentioned in the list of- victims at the Aśvamedha (‘ horse sacrifice ’) in the Yajurveda Samhitās. Perhaps the ‘ pelican' is meant.
Cyclic,’ is a term applied to the Akhyana, or ‘tale,’ which is to be recited at the Aśvamedha (‘horse sacrifice’), and to be repeated at intervals throughout the year. It is mentioned in the śatapatha Brāhmana and in the Sūtras.
