vṛddhadyumna ábhipratāriṇa (‘Descendant of Abhipra- tārin ’) is the name of a prince (rājanya) in the Aitareya Brāh­maṇa, where his priest, śucivrksa Gaupalāyana, is praised. kalahaṃ kārayitrī।

arjunyāḥ vacanāni viśvasya sītā ca gītā ca kalahaṃ kṛtavatyau।

yaḥ avardhata।

pravṛddhena mūlyena janāḥ pīḍitāḥ।
