[तुष्यन्त्यस्मिन् तुष्-क्यप् नि˚] 1 Auspicious, fortunate. -2 Born under the asterism पुष्य. -ष्यः 1 The eighth of the 27 constellations, (also called पुष्य); यदा चन्द्रश्च सूर्यश्च तथा तिष्यबृहस्पतीं । एकराशौ समेष्यन्ति तदा भवति तत्कृतम् ॥ Bhāg.12.2.24. -2 The lunar month Pauṣa. -3 The Kali Yuga; तिष्यः पुष्ये कलियुगौ Ak. -ष्या 1 Lustre. -2 Emblic myrobalan; दीप्त्यामलकयोः स्त्रियाम् Nm. -ष्यम् The Kali Yuga; चत्वारि भारते वर्षे युगानि भरतर्षभ । कृतं त्रेता द्वापरं च तिष्यं च कुरुवर्धन ॥ Mb.6.1.3; तथापि तिष्यस्य बलाद् भृशं ववृधिरे श्रियः Śiva. B.5.3. -Comp. -केतुः an epithet of Śiva. -रक्षिता N. of the Aśoka's second wife.
Occurs twice in the Rigveda, apparently as the name of a star, though Sāyana takes it to mean the sun. It is doubtless identical with the Avestan Tistrya. Later it is the name of a lunar mansion : see Naksatra.

Wildcard Searches and Exact Matching
To replace many characters us * example śakt* will give all words starting with śakt. To replace an individual character use ? for example śakt?m will give all words that have something in place of the ?. By default our search system looks for words “containing” the search keyword. To do an exact match use “” example “śaktimat” will search for this exact phrase.
Type sandhi: and a phrase to search for the sandhi of the two words example.
