m. one who has bathed or performed ablutions (id est a Brahman who, after performing the ceremonial lustrations required on his finishing his studentship as a brahma-cārin- under a religious teacher, returns home and begins the second period of his life as a gṛha-stha-Seesamāvartana-;three kinds of snātaka-s are named, 1. a vidyā-sn-q.v,2. a vrata-sn-[who has completed the vows, such as fasting, continence etc., without the veda-s], 3. a vidyā-vrata-sn-or ubhaya-sn-[who has completed both veda-s and vows], the last is the highest;in a wider sense there may be 9 snātaka-sSee) () .
स्नातकः 1 A Brāhmaṇa who has performed the ceremony of ablution which has to be performed on his finishing his first Āśrama (that of a Brahmachārin); राजस्नातकयोश्चैव स्नातको नृपमानभाक् Ms.2.139. -2 A Brāhmaṇa just returned from the house of his preceptor and become an initiated householder (गृहस्थ). -3 A Brāhmaṇa who is a Bhikṣu (beggar of alms) for any religious object; नवैतान् स्नातकान् विद्याद् ब्राह्मणान् धर्म- भिक्षुकान् Ms.11.2. -4 Any man of the first three classes who is an initiated householder. -Comp. -व्रतम् the vows and duties of a स्नातक.

Wildcard Searches and Exact Matching
To replace many characters us * example śakt* will give all words starting with śakt. To replace an individual character use ? for example śakt?m will give all words that have something in place of the ?. By default our search system looks for words “containing” the search keyword. To do an exact match use “” example “śaktimat” will search for this exact phrase.
Type sandhi: and a phrase to search for the sandhi of the two words example.
sandhi:sam yoga will search for saṃyoga
Type root: and a word to do a root search only for the word. You can also use the √ symbol, this is easily typed by typing \/ in SanskritWriter software.
